yup, I did that on cat's paw or something like that. thank god for full face helmets haha. Leominster is on the list, I never realized how much good riding there was locally.

There's a lot around since we touched on the area, it's just chunky so it's not ideal to most.

East coasters always seem to have it a little harder in terms of terrain but a different harder (skiing & biking)

oh... I have the Odanata. Maybe a little older. Don't ride it as much as my Carbon Scott, but can never seem to get rid of it. Wanted to upgrade to Di2.... asked Seven if they'd take frame back to adapt to internal routing, but they wouldn't do it.

Nice bike. I also have the external cable guides, which of course are useless with e-Tap.

Food for thought (bored at work). Let's assume experienced and fit rider. My rule of thumb is every 1 mile on road = .5 mile MTB. Thoughts?

Example; a roadie that rides 4000 miles annually devotes the same energy level/time as a MTBer that rides 2000 miles annually.

There are so many variables, it's hard to say. On comparable grade smooth-ish singletrack, you're probably close. Increased rolling resistance of wider tires, small rocks and all that.

But for example, in Utah, the single track to get to the top of PCMR from the parking lot is quite a bit less steep than the road to get to the top.

I think it all depends on how you measure it... (from base or balls)

Interesting, but I think there are too many variables. For me (experienced but not super fit) I regularly ride 15-25 miles on my MTB. Whereas 30-50 on the road bike is a big ride. On the other hand, I have ridden 100 miles on my road bike, and a 50 mile MTB ride sounds impossible at my current level of fitness. Around here, any long ride requires a fair amount of climbing, whether paved, fire road or single track, but dirt climbs are often steeper than the roads. And, downhills on the road are like rest stops, whereas downhills on dirt just cause different muscles to burn :)

@RedRed the bike is quite clean ... did it just break while you were riding , or do you have a great story about hitting a rock just after clearing a 20’ gap etc etc?

Jumped over a worn down log in the middle of the trail and landed on a large rock. My dog was following me down the trail and came to my aid after I smacked the ground. Dusted my self off and started back down the trail until my rear locked up and I wrecked again. This is when I noticed the damage. Walked back half a mile to the truck while watching my dog chase squirrels.

She is a great trail dog

Anyone here know what the max tire width for the Commecal MetaTR is?

It says 2.25 online, but it comes stock with 2.35.

All I found was someone who posted a pic of a 2.4 and said it had plenty of clearance. If I could slap 2.6 on that bad boy I may bail on the carbon train.

Just got word from their rep online saying 2.4 would be fine. 2.6 no go. 2.5 possible.
