Maybe your alignment is off...I'm at 3 of caster in a 2" lift

I'm 3.2/3.3 with near 0 camber and toe I think the majority of my lower mpg is the altitude, hills and the wind around here is killer. Some days I have to keep it in 4 just to maintain 65.

Also the mt tread doesn't help :D

Anybody got some more pics of 235/85/16 on a 3rd gen? I think this'll be my next size, some pictures it looks crazy narrow and others it looks normal.

    I went from BFG KO2's in a 265/75/16 to the BFG KM2's in a 255/85/16. I haven't noticed hardly any difference.

Nice wheels! Please post some pics after the install. I am interested to see if this size will look too small with a small lift.

What are your guy's thoughts on re-gearing for skinnys? I searched TW and opinions are split on the need to re-gear. It seems that if you have lots of armor and other weight on the truck, then re-gearing is recommended for 33's and higher. But if you are a mall crawler without lots of extra weight, there is no need to re-gear for 33's.

I just got my skinnys (255/85R16), so I'm tracking MPGs (just for info purposes). I don't off-road much (maybe a dirt road or someone's yard occasionally), and I don't have any armor (no sliders/extra skids/bumpers/shell/etc). Thoughts?

You don't need a regear if your stock and just on pavement with 255s

2k plus to spend on a regear for a skinny is unheard of.

I’ve got skinny MTs an fully armored now an I can see myself getting some in the future, but it still goes down the road just fine around town an crusing on the highway no issue just a little slow. Passing is another story it really struggles.:turtleride:

Before I did the armor just a lift an tires was no different than stock an wouldn’t consider it in the slightest.

I didn't track MPG before skinny, so I haven't checked after. I wanted the 33 and have a short commute. Power wise, I haven't noticed much of a difference. I had an E rated tire before so I may have been used to it. I also have a manual transmission, and I hear that makes a difference. I have a couple hills that I have to shift a little earlier than I used to, but not a significant loss. Go for it!

I didn't really consider mine skinny, but I suppose that's a matter of perspective. :) BFG KO2 275/70/17. Drives great on the pavement and they will get their offroad test at the Toyota Jamboree this weekend, but I expect they will perform well.

Haha.... ok, fair enough. I posted because looking at most of the pictures, mine don't seem any wider than anyone elses. Of course, its a little hard to tell from just a picture.

Oh, and thanks for the compliment and ditto.
