I hear what you're saying about heat. I'm just saying that it's not likely with this weldment that it'd pull in that manner.

Wasn't bad enough to not be installed but it was a huge pita! Will keep an eye on things and make sure it's not gonna be an issue.

Mine were tight too using the thin washers in the middle. We ended up using a pry bar to make it easier and everything went together easy but with 2 people. I could see where one person would have a hard time with it. Also I've read the different ways for the washers and I used the thin ones in the middle and the thick ones on the outside. I didn't reuse the factory ones on the outside. That's how I took it from the instructions.

The instructions have a fairly clear layout of the washers, skinny inside-fat outside.

Deff took me a flathead I use to spread 300lb flanges, a fulcrum, and a second set of hands to get mine in as well. Had to pry to even get the first one in.

    She good now though.

Haha literally first post that shows a different washer set up.

When in doubt though most do follow the instructions I'd assume.

Alright TW. I messed up, put the thicker washers on the inside instead if outside... took some serious prying but got them all mounted. Will this cause a problem? Should i reinstall with the "thicker" washer on the outside and "thinner" washer on the inside? I agree wording should be changed but i own my mistake.

Also, whats up with the nylock balljoint nut eith no hole for a cotter pin at minimum. Is this really safe if torqued correctly? I have never seen a balljoint nut non castle style.

    Thanks everyone.

Welp, I just fixed it anyway... no worries. Did some research on nulock nuts... case closed.

The UCA are awesome, ride is amazing.

So me and a friend put these on my tacoma about 3 months ago. We tried tried to get the inner washers in and there just wasn’t room so I only have the factory washers on the outside. Seems fine so far I’ve even driven across the country like that but I just want to make sure this isn’t going to actually be a huge problem in the future? Safety or wear on the uca

FWIW, after installing my JBA UCA’s with the Bistein TRD Pro lift I wasn’t satisfied with the lift I got. My alignment was way off as my tires squealed on my slick neighborhood streets. My tires also rubbed the UCA’s
with my Fuel 14mm offset wheels. So after finally receiving my SCS Ray 10’s and buying new Nitto Ridge Grapplers I got an alignment before I install my new tires. To my surprise I got 3/4” more lift after my alignment. I did t realize an alignment affects ride height.

No, what’s weird is I had a spacer lift on before I installed the PRO lift and JBA’s and had no problem with my alignment. I have to conclude that the UCA’s are what affected my alignment. Whatever it was I’m happy now as I asked for 3* caster and close to 0* for toe and camber and the tech hit it right on the nose.
Edit: Although the camber doesn’t look like it was too far out of spec it was visibly noticeable

I didn’t drive my truck except to test it out as my tires rubbed the UCA’s with 14mm offset wheels. I was waiting for my new SCS wheels to get an alignment before installing new tires and wheels. I’m just surprised the alignment gave me lift. IDK maybe it will settle again? At any rate I’m happy with my setup now but am hoping it does settle some.

IIRC doesn't backspacing have more to do with clearing the UCAs and fenders while offset has to do with clearing the calipers and hub?

No. Offset is how far the mounting point is off centerline. You use wheel width and offset to calculate backspacing. They're not two independent variables
