Did you run a BPV spacer?

Nope...I'm keeping a close eye on it though, might go back and do it but no issues yet. I'm not even running extended rear brake line yet either :bananadead: Though the Dakars gave me the exact same amount of lift that my 3 leaf AALs did and I had no issues without the BPV spacer or ext brake line for the 1 1/2 years I ran that setup.

I have a SS brake line ready to put in I just haven't done it yet.

Same here. When I did my Tundra brake upgrade I anticipated I was going to lift the truck eventually so I got all the brake lines extended 3". I was just too lazy to put the rear brake line in so I never did.

Think I need new upper control arms for about a 2.5" lift? Planning on running the stock ones for a while.

Happen to have a link to a BPV riser? I can't find one for some reason.

Always run a bpv spacer with any lift. I put one in and I only did an inch of lift (for now:cool:) Its good piece of mind and like $20 shipped from BAMF.

Your alignment might be kinda funky with no UCAS at that lift, but your tires will be fine.

2.5" of lift is going to push your stock UCAs to their limits...you will most likely not be able to get a solid alignment done and your truck will feel like it's wandering a lot. But a lot of people don't seem to mind and keep their stock UCAs on, at least for awhile. I'd budget for new ones as an upper-list priority when you can though.

@BartMaster1234 I have the SPC Light Racing UCAs (ball joint style) and they've been great for me, cheaper than uniball UCAs and they have more adjustment potential. JBA makes a good aftermarket ball-joint style UCA as well for about the same price.

That's what I was worried about. Oh well, I'll have more money coming in during the Summer do maybe I'll pick up some new ones then. For now though I'm stuck with the stock UCA's.

I’m gonna go JBA when I can afford em. Only dislike is how red they are, but oh well. I don’t think you’ll really have a problem without them though. Unless your icons are extended travel secretly.

Can't wait to see some pics on the truck! Did you go with the 17x8.5" or 17x9" wheels??

Alright: Dumb question incoming. What the hell is Long Travel, and why do only PreRunners have it?

I don’t know how to explain it, but it’s not only prerunners. @Blackdawg ‘s Frank has a long travel kit up front.

4x4's can have long travel, too. It's just more common on 2wd's because there's less to break on them, basically. 4x4's have to be more concerned with their geometry and spend more $$$ on LT to make sure the front drivetrain works as it should

What's the point of long travel, what does it do compared to a normal suspension lift?

Gives you more wheel travel and width. There’s a whole lot I don’t know about it. Someone smarter will explain I’m sure.

Additional wheel travel, better ability to keep all 4 tires on the ground. Wheels and shocks can cycle a greater amount. Wider stance (aftermarket LCA's) and more side-to-side stability. Lots and lots of $$$$$$$$.

For most people that wheel in the 4x4 world, mid travel will be enough...but if you find yourself pushing the limits of mid travel then you have LT in your blood and you'll never know what a healthy bank account looks like ever again.

edit: until you decide to SAS

I haven't known what a healthy bank account looks like since I decided to join this forum.

Long travel and SAS are typically two different types of wheeling. KOH uses SAS in fast off road conditions but generally LT is go fast and SAS is crawling. My bank account is kinda healthy, it only has one leg and is missing one eye but its on the road to recovery! Lol
