Tacoma wheels have a +30 offset, which doesn't leave enough backspacing for 285s. If you wanted to stay with OEM wheels, FJ and T4R wheels have a +15 offset, which should clear 285s. There's also a set of OEM fake beadlocks with +10 offset, which imo, is perfect with 285s. Most aftermarket wheels are 0 offset or have negative offsets, which is when the wheels start to poke out. 0 offset still looks great imo and is a popular choice.

Thanks, looks good. These are stock 17" wheels? Is that the same offset as 16's?

This is the suspension from filthymotorsports.

The biggest limiting factor to improving ride quality on a Gen 2 and Gen 3 Tacoma are the factory rear leaf springs and rear shock mounts. Because heavy leaf springs have a tendency to unload and transfer weight to the front of the vehicle, changing to a softer, less progressive leaf pack will significantly improve ride quality. To get the ultimate in ride quality and performance out of your Tacoma, Filthy Motorsports recommends the following package:
    • Front King OEM Coilovers with Compression Adjusters and Extended Travel.
    • Camburg or SPC Aftermarket Upper Control Arms (UCAs).
    • Rear Deaver Leaf Springs (Custom tuned for your application.)
    • Total Chaos Rear Shock Relocation Kit.
    • King 2.5" x 10 Smoothie or Double Bypass Rear Shocks.
    • Spidertrax 1.25" Rear Wheel Spacers (Required).
    • Optional Rear Hydraulic Bump Stop Kit"
Okay. I think my wheels have +25. I should probably talk to the vendor and figure why the spacer is needed.

Jeez, that’s a nice set up!

I would definitely call a few off-road shops and ask their opinions for a set up. Sneak that spacer question in there

A wheel spacer is not recommended for off-road use. If you aren’t going off-road, then that’s a really expensive street set up!

Just trying to help, post up when you get it all figured out!

I’m not 100% positive, but I believe they are the same. This truck had the TRD OffRoad 16” wheels with these spacers and similar tires originally, and I swapped them for the 17” Sport wheels. Everything fit the same in both cases.

I installed OME kit within first month of buying the truck and the front sits quite a bit lower than my previous Tacos (2004 & 2012) running the same kit.

Ever since I've had the truck, front driver side rubs.
