Worse. No heat to the rear window at all, and the aerodynamics set up a vortex that deposits inches of snow on it at a time.

The rear window on the cap, not on the truck.

When I was driving to the parent's house during that Christmas storm I had to stop 3 times on the way up to clear snow off of the rear window on the cap, because it had 2+ inches of snow caked on.

My easy go to in the summer is Vodka. Vodka and cran or sprite or OJ or the flavored tonic waters. Really whatever is laying around works

I drank a lot of beer last summer. I might keep it to clear drinks this time around.

Don't know. Might be because of the shape of the tailgate on an F150, then. But it was definitely a problem; bad enough that I thought about getting an aftermarket defroster element and installing it on the cap window. I should have gotten pictures of it, it was a crazy amount of build up

    Traded the truck instead :anonymous:

I grow a ton of mint (not intentionally; I planted it when we moved in and it has since done what mint does when you don't cage it in) so for me the summer go-to is either a mint julep, a mojito, or home-brewed mint tea with a shot of something alcoholic in it. And since I've got multiple varieties of mint, it doesn't get old. Spearmint, peppermint, chocolate mint, & pineapple mint.

But, I do throw in a generous amount of dark & stormy's and G&T's too. For variety

My '13 didn't come with one either but it has one now. Not too hard to add...

This would probably be a good idea for me. Snow likes to find it's way between the cap and the back window...

I've appreciated how fast you can air out the cab with the use of the power rear slider :anonymous: New truck doesn't have it though, unfortunately.
Nope, had 4,200 miles on it when I bought it. Someone else took the massive initial depreciation hit!
I think the rear defroster on a pick up is a completely useless feature. I've had pickups since I was 16 and never had an instance where I found it to be needed. It's a vertical window...
    My '13 had both :notsure:
Me neither, but it's annoying if you get an ice chunk between the cab and the box that you can't get it and it just sits there, rattling away!
You must be driving way, way, way too slow... I've never had that happen to me before. Although, the new Ferds have the huge lip on their tail gates now so there's a plastic shelf at the base of the cap glass that I never had to deal with. The tailgate on my new truck has to be close to 8" thick front to back. It's ridiculous.

There was a guy on TW selling kits. I'll see if I can dig it up. I think it may have been Benwa maybe?

are you anti-gin? or do you just prefer the vodka? I'll have to try that, along with a rum old fashioned.

I made my own bracket and used a rear slider power window motor regulator assembly from a 2011 Ram. Siena rear window switch fits in the left side of the steering wheel slot with a little modification. I have a 3D model and pdf of the bracket if needed. It's at work - pm me if you want a copy and I'll post it.

I know you don't like the red, but I don't think it looks that bad.

that being said, it's gonna look pretty sick if you black out the cap.

Fished my butt off today. Caught two bass, one was nice. No pics. Great day to be on the water though. Fertilized and limed the lawn after that. ML smoothies too of course.
