Everyone had friends like that. A kid I was friends with in grade school had EVERY GODDAMN TRANSFORMER KNOWN TO MAN... I had like 5 of them. I'd go over to his house specifically to play with his toys, haha!

The only reason why I started working when I was like 13 was so I could find a way to pay for decks and shoes, which at that time I started going through really fast as I skated more and harder.

For like 10 years straight I'd get either a deck or shoes for my birthday and Christmas, depending on what I needed more since they were 6 months apart.

Which reminds me, next weekend officially marks the 32nd year I've been riding skateboards when my older sister gave me my first POS set up (K-Mart complete) for my 8th birthday. I'll be 40. So OLD. :p

LOL!I had friends like that with Star Wars toys!I was never into though because i was skating or riding my bmx bike with others.

That’s funny i was actually working at 13yr’s of age as well at a gas station before i worked with my dad off and on for yr’s.My dad’s friend hooked me up with the gas station job under the table cash because legally i wasn’t at the legal age to work.My parents pushed me somewhat hard and i still respect that to this day!I earned whatever it was wether my parents had the funds or it was myself(chores etc.).

And happy early birthday to you!40 isn’t old at all!I’ll be 45 in August!Oh and if i end up going to the Agent Orange show next Friday the 11th i’ll salute your birthday with a pic!I’ll include @scottalot as well since i’m unable to fly him out for the show due to lack of funds,LOL!

Haha. Same thing happened to me in college. I was late for class so I was hustling and I came around a corner and hit some pea gravel and wiped out. I hit the ground hard with my books and everything flying.

As I was laying there my board did a slow roll right under delivery style truck driving about 5mph and perfectly met the back tires. I watched the whole think in slow motion.

Blew out a wheel bent one of my trucks and demolished my board. I was so bummed and broke I didn't get another board until my brother gave me one for Christmas a couple years later.

It was crazy because there were several of us skating and I didn't see the kid go down, I heard it and looked just in time to see the devastation unfold.

I'm not kidding that when those tires rolled over the board the tail end of it EXPLODED! Almost sounded like a gunshot which is what got the driver's attention otherwise he didn't feel a thing.

The worst part was it was only a few weeks old and was still in excellent shape. We were all sick about it. You mourn the loss of a board like that for sure! Luckily my buddy had some spare parts and his older cousin felt bad and gave him one of his older decks until he got a new one.

In all the years skating I've only broken a few decks mainly because I'm pint sized at 5'6". Not like some friends that snapped shit left and right especially when we were skating stair sets and gaps and stuff.
I broke an ACME board learning frontside kickflips on a fun little loading dock driveway thing and another time at a skatepark doing a disaster but it only broke like one half.

I've watched dudes who literally just gripped their board and within an hour had to return to the shop to try to get a new one. One thing about being small that seemed to be an advantage, LOL!

After breaking a couple of decks I learned real quick how to land over the trucks.

I had to buy all my own boards. My parents bought me and my brothers our first one and that was it!

Part of the reason I was bummed my board was crushed was because I had been rebuilding my original venture highs (all my buddy’s rode independents) for like six years. They were heavy as hell but indestructible, or so I thought. Loved them. Had to buy a new pair (venture high feather lights)once I got my first job out of school.

That is not a crime! That’s a preference.

When you have one slice left and and you don’t have any slices but thy neighbor has two slices and picks up the last one. - pizza crime.

When thy neighbor takes your pizza without asking - pizza crime.
