I think you're reachin a bit too far here.... I mean, this is obviously a photo shoot. Aside from that, it's literally 2-3 straps to secure. Not to mention that loading them in the truck bed is kind of how you move them from one place to another to ride. Maybe I'm naive, but I've never heard of or known someone to load a bike just for the "look". Seems like too much of a PITA!

Because you cant find a good reason, doesn't mean there's not a good reason.

Well to be fair it is a Ducati so it's likely broken in this case.

That sounds pretty annoying and inconvenient where you live. All those laws are well intended, but, criminals break laws.

They're from Houston. Houston is in Texas. In Texas we can openly carry assault rifles. Without any special permission or locks or whatever. We can openly carry pistols on our person.

I like to hide my pistol, loaded with hollow-points, in my pants everywhere I go.

It definitely is inconvenient. At the same time though it means that only a criminal could likely have a firearm (handgun) on them. Stay away from the bad areas and you never ever have to worry about being in a situation or worry about a situation escalating to a certain point.
Basically in the end it is better for the masses. Though we could get into how criminals have more rights than law abiding citizens here....buuuut thats not a discussion for TW.

I've drawn on someone because I had to.

    I wasn't in a "bad" area.

The situation didn't escalate. It presented itself instantly.

    That's a common misconception.

    I get that.
Not debating it. Basically no one unless a criminal will have a handgun outside a range here as having one is a criminal offense unless a LEO.
I understand fully that being able to protect oneself is priority. However, the necessity to carry up here for protection is minimal.

I also changed my original statement to handguns not firearms. My mistake.

That being said, I am sure I have had run ins with people who have had a handgun with them and it becomes a give right of way situation. Basically you want to pick a fight for whatever reason, you dont look like I can trust that you would follow the law....Im out.
Obviously we cant stop a mass casualty event if one occurs but at the same time they are far and few between.

To be fair, the reason people carry here is to protect themselves from criminals who are carrying illegally in the first place.

It's like a neckbeard carrying a condom. Really, really low chances of them needing it, but it'll come in handy if the situation comes up.

Except for the pesky fact that the bad-guys don't seem to stay in the bad areas.

Plus in some metro regions, such as ATL, with economic/real-estate growth you find a patchwork of interleaved "bad" and "good" making that distance between the two often very small.

Kinda goes back to the old jike, when they asked Jesse James why he robbed banks.

"Cause that's where they keep the money"

So if you have nice stuff, they will come to your hood.

    I understand the situation.
Goes without saying that Canada and USA are very different when it comes to the necessity of protecting oneself.
