This happens with ports sometimes. Either get a splitter or just read the tiny ass writing on the side of the black dongle and you will see your serial

It happened on two different laptops. It's the purple dongle, but I'll try the splitter. Thanks bud!

 

Bummer on the purple. You may have to go into the deep settings of where the software you loaded lives and enable it. In rare instances PCs will disable new software until you enable it. This sometimes involves going into the administration settings in group policy

 

How are we able load the tune without said dongle? 880 pages of dongle, now no more dongle! I am so confused!

 

I'm having the same problem. Windows defender off, all drivers installed and reinstalled multiple times. Windows doesn't seem to be recognizing it as a USB (although when I first plug it in it pops up for a second) so I can't "safely remove hardware". However, when I plug it in the "Guardant Code" one shows up:


Normally it's just the Guardant SP.

Not sure where to go from here, I emailed Matt a few minutes ago so hopefully he'll get back sometime tomorrow.

 

So not sure if you tried this or not but when you open the installer it doesn't do anything by default, you need to select for it to download on the top left drop down

 

I will get back to you guys either later tonight or tomorrow. The dongles require an extra registration step to show the serial number.


Regarding the dongle-less, The new software being made no longer requires a dongle. It's just not ready yet

I think at this point ecu tune is as good as it’ll get and I’m ok with that.
I want different transmission tune, I don’t want to floor it just to downshift. I’d be ok with more shifting at this point, as there isn’t really other viable solution

 

Can you open that file you circled or right click it and enable

All File Updates can be obtained by Flash Manager

Check your desktop or the folder where every other file is stored on your desktop. It could have loaded fast and you would not have seen it change

 

It's enabled by default, just tried right clicking and only Disable came up. If I open the driver screen it says it's working properly and up to date.

 

Hmmm. Not sure I can help anymore. I would doublecheck OVsoftpack is installed

 

Triple checked and rechecked, uninstalled both, deleted openport from program files, emptied recycle bin, rebooted computer. Above OP just said "The dongles require an extra registration step to show the serial number" so I think that's the problem, I'm sure it'll get resolved tomorrow. Thanks for trying to help though!

 

Forgot to mention I also have 33" e rated tires

Bro tip... i had to use google chrome to download the newest version of flash manager.

 

Honey, The dongle is for the security stuff, you also have a USB cable to connect the PC to the OBD port for loading the tune.
