I have issues with my Pandora app connecting to my phone. I can run it on Bluetooth, but not on the Pandora application. When I attempt to connect it notes a "tether error".

Any ideas? I called the garage and took it in. They reset my radio and it worked for about two months and now it is doing it again. I changed the settings on my phone with no luck.

    Any suggestions would be great!
    Thanks...

Ditch Pandora and go with Spotify. There is no app for the Entune suite, but just use your phone thru bluetooth. It's awesome!

With your phone connected, go into your Entune app and log out of it via the settings, then log back into the Entune app and that should fix it...or at least it does for me anyway.

That said, scubamike has a good point, ditch Pandora and use Spotify.

I've had the same problem off an on. It usually happens if I go from being direct through usb to Bluetooth or vice versa while the truck is running. It's also happened when my phone is connected to my home WiFi when i'm parked but still tries to find it after I back out of my driveway. There's been a few times where i've shut my truck off and restarted it at a red light just to get it to connect.

As others have said, moving away from Pandora is a better move. They push those adds for the premium service so much that I can't use it anymore. although i'm more partial to Amazon music than Spotify since it coordinated with my Prime subscription.

I can listen to Pandora through the bluetooth option. What I like about the app is that I have the controls on the screen. When running Spotify can you do the same if only running bluetooth? I suspect not... Let me know might switch. I also run Google Music, but sometime like to change it up.

What about screen mirror upgrades. Is there any way to screen mirror my phone on the Tacoma, ie Android Auto or Apple Play?

Lots of recommendations to ditch Pandora for Spotify. I've tried that many times over the past five years, but Spotify still has a fatal flaw. With Pandora, I select my favorite artists to build a collection and then press the shuffle button, which shuffles through different songs by different artists in my list. Piece of cake.

Until Spotify figures out how to let me shuffle through all of my playlists (without having to create a custom playlist of tracks, which would take six months to build), I just won't use it. I've seen a lot of requests for this on the Spotify forums over the years, but they claim it can't be done due to the way they built their software, and the different hardware it is run on.

There are no ads if you use Pandora through Entune ;)

OP, also, make sure your HU has the latest software update.

Latest software update is a good point too!

On a side note, I was messing around with my HU yesterday and I found an option to delete personal data, which I did. Once that happened and I set up Entune again, the HU downloaded a mandatory update before I could use Entune with it. Since then, I haven't had any tether errors with Pandora...I'm not saying that's a "fix" but I thought it was interesting.

True, but they still limit how many times you can skip tracks.

Yeah, but it also doesn't play ads between every damn song like the phone app.

Yeahhh that's true. I'm just bitter because there was a week where they played that terrible Capital Cities song over and over on the Gaslight Anthem station and 'd run out of skips then be stuck with it. But "hey did you know if you paid us money you wouldn't have to endure this torture?" Harsh barge marketing but it almost worked.

I should have the latest update. Just took it to the garage and they wiped all my data and had to start over... I'll try the suggestions...

Though as noted I do not have the issues with the ads and I like shuffling through various music on longer drives to mix it up. Otherwise I listen to talk radio or Google.

I had a tether error this morning, has never happened before this thread...:frusty:

The Entune app did have me signed out, so that might have been the problem.

I need help. I’ve been using the Pandora app via Headunit through entune for several weeks now since i’ve got my 18’. All of a sudden, it stops working and gives me an error saying “invalid login.”

I’ve already tried resetting the entune app, logging in and out of Pandora via unlinking multiple times, deleting the entune app and reinstalling, deleting the Pandora app and reinstalling. Everything else works like iheartradio, slacker, all the other apps, except Pandora. I even created a new account with pandora and linked the new one, but it keeps giving me that stupid invalid login error.

I dont know what else more I can do. I tried searching to see if my headunit needs an update, but i dont know how to find out if it does.

I've already tried to "Forget Device" for the Tacoma and reconnecting it. Still the same problem. I've literally tried everything haha

When you install the Entune app on your phone, did you sign into Pandora from inside your Entune app on your phone? Then before pressing the Pandora app on your Entune, open the Entune app then minimize it don’t X out of it, this keeps a “life line link” between your phone and the truck. I also found that opening pandora on my phone, NOT from the Entune app first when getting into my truck then letting it play or pause it if you want then I select the Entune app to open/let it run and so it’s thing, then I press the Pandora app on the trucks screen gets it going. Not sure why. If all else fails, add just turning off then on your Bluetooth before the steps I mentioned above usually solves it. You don’t need to do Forget/Remove this Device here...

Appreciate your input, but i've never exited out of the app. I always have it running in the background to keep the link with the headunit, so I know that's not the issue. It was running perfectly fine, until earlier, out of nowhere it gave me that error code. It's not the "tether" error that some other people have experienced.
