What REALLY grinds my gears is when it's someone in a new/newer vehicle that you know damn well has bluetooth. 90% of the time around here, it's a woman driving a fancy SUV with her phone to her ear. Pisses me the EFF off!

every time man. I don't touch my phone when I'm behind the wheel, ever. If it's urgent
they'll call and then like you said, it's come through the stereo. The part I find funny is how
pissed off they get when you beep at them when they almost hit you.... wtf? :D

Yeah, I would have just hit them and gotten a new truck out of it.. Would have been their fault and you have a dash cam to prove it.

"sorry officer, they pulled right out in front of me and I could not stop quick enough, plus there was a car beside of me so I could not move into the other lane without causing a another crash"

I'm so glad I have a front and rear dash cam installed now.

Yeah, if my insurance wants to say I'm at fault for hitting a guy who pulls out right in front of me ON CAMERA as I lock up my brakes to stop, they can deal with the publicity as I send that video into the local news station, upload to youtube, share around the internet, etc.

Yeah there’s really no excuse. You’re just an asshole if you use your phone while driving.

Sorry if this has been said before, but I just didn't feel like reading through every post right now, and of course I have to give the most important opinion of all, mine. It seems someone would have a difficult case to make if they said the sun was in their eyes in this situation. They were turning right on red, and you can only do so once it is safe to do. Therefore if they could not see, they still know the light is red, and should have waited for a green light to turn if they were not sure they could see everything. However, laws, determinations, and common sense seem to go together less and less now. The fact that they may have been on their phone just makes the whole thing even worse. This is exactly why I use a dash cam now and am glad the Tacomas come with a mount.

for sure man, there's just no safe way to do it and seeing these assholes daily
on major highways is mind blowing and this is in heavy traffic coming and going
to work..... oddly enough o_O there are accidents every single morning and night
on each of the 3 highways I travel.

Thats only true in situations where both drivers share the same insurance company. If they don't have the same insurance company, and he has video of the other driver clearly breaking the law, they are just gonna pay your claim then sue the other insurance company, or otherwise get reimbursed by the other company.

Having the sun in the other drivers eyes isn't a valid excuse. Its his duty to make sure the way is clear before he impedes traffic which has the right of way.

This is the reason i have a front and rear dash cam. Way to many terrible drivers in the world that feel like they have something more important to do than drive.
