What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Me & my old lady have somewhat been looking for a house but like you said 5 acres & shed... either way I told her the garage is my mancave!!

 

I ended up picking up the Thinkware F800 with the front and rear cameras. It has good options for when the vehicle is off and the clarity is really good. Right now I have it set for vehicle movement, in case someone bumps me when I'm parked. I could set it to record movement, but that would eat my battery pretty fast. I believe there's an external battery option too for something like that.

Good or annoying, when I start the truck, IF there was movement (say if I hopped in the bed or something), the unit will tell me how many movements it recorded. I believe it'll record 20 sec for each movement, front and rear. I haven't had to look at it in awhile, but it was a set-it and forget-it thing. Hope you find something that fits your needs.

over the last few days @kiahb12 and I both installed firestone ride rite air bag kits on our trucks. I couldn't be happier with mine. They helped compensate the extra weight for the camper shell. Up next is my bed platform with drawer system. Also took the hubcaps off of my method nvs which also made a huge difference. Oh and new to me camper shell!!

 

I want to take the hubs off my wheels, but It would just make them easier to steal

I picked up a huge one from Walmart clearance for 30 bucks. Check clearance aisles every time you hit Walmart. It was big enough I could almost park the entirety of my DCLB under it.

 

I wish they made a DCLB hotwheel in a 2nd gen.

What resistor did you change out to dim the switch?

 

Replaced headlights in wife's 2012 to find they are identical to my 1996 4runner. Cray.

 

Started my front end conversion. Figured right around 200K miles was a good place to start.

 

Pipe wrench, WD40 and some muscle. Took off the factory tow harness bracket. Will likely replace with one from IKA Fabrications. Not a huge project, but one on the Punch List.

 

I changed out both resistors on the aftermarket light switch. I ended up going with like a 7.5k on both backlight and indicator LED, but will probably take it apart again and go up to 10k on backlight because it's STILL brighter than I'd like. It's already wired into the factory dimmer switch too, but I'd like the overall brightness of the new switch to be close to the factory switches.
