    Ive heard that running 75w90 oil in a 05-08 sport rear diff makes them act funny since it is not a dino oil like 80w90. Any thoughts on this? LSD additive is added of course

    That's the good stuff.

    I run this in my motorcycle diffs too. It's better than the hyper hypoid stuff it calls for and half the price too.

    Put the proper viscosity oil in with ls additive if needed. The rest is noise.

    The amsoil made a huge difference in my 6 speed. A lot smoother shifts even in extreme cold temps and no more third gear grind.

    Yeah.
    Just use the Walmart brand dino oil. Unless you are racing, towing at max, or doing crazy stuff with your truck, you are throwing money away -- and it might even perform worse. Use the weight specified and add friction modifier. It's a gear box, not an engine.

    This is money, thanks!

    I used redline all the way around last time. Thinking i may try Amsoil in the front and rear diff's and stick to MT-90 in the tranny and transfer case. See if there's a difference.

    If you don't use your truck hard, it's not a big deal. If you use it for towing or hauling, synthetic reduces the heat build considerably. The Tacoma is more susceptible than the average truck because of the axle size.

    Ive heard Synthetic will cause the LSD clutch packs to slip and all kinds of strange sounds? Any thought on this?

    My 07 had clutch packs before I went to the ARB. I had no issues with the synthetic once the LSD additive was in. I did use Mobil One then too. I used GM additive, which funny enough was used by the local Ford dealership too. It chattered like hell without the additive, but ran great with it.
