    Aftermarket, if you want to stick to oem it might require some modifications to the oem harness.

    the 00-02 4Runner limited had the factory amp option, your plugs would work as they pass through the amp part. But finding one is hard. I can't remember the part number either, had it at one point.

    But aftermarket is easier to work, a little more money but better sound in the long run

    Keeping the stock look is worth a sacrifice or two in my opinion. As for the cost, well worth it, GTA Car Kits make a quality product, and single dins are not aesthetically pleasing to look at, again just my opinion.

    Yes you need like a 10$ wire harness. Do you have a local audio shop you can go to? Those guys should be able to hook you up with everything you will need

    look for Metra kits, good pricing if you search, and don't rule out fleabay, I've gotten more and more from there due to price. I also use an extension that searches for the lowest price so I can at least judge shipping/tax

    How big the radio is. Then thinnones that take up half the space is a 1 din. 2 dins are the radios that fill up the whole gap

    You always buy a harness when adding an aftermarket radio, god I remember reading in the 2nd gen thread a member bought a used tacoma and the po just cut all the oem plugs behind the radio and just spliced them in...like wtf...
