Cool. I did mine in a different color couple weeks ago. I have the OEM all weather mats so people will not mistake what kick ass truck they are steppin' into. I like this truck so much, doing silly cosmetic things like this. Must be a mid-life crisis.

I’ve been looking at pictures of the AVS Aeroskin for our trucks and decided to do my own vinyl version using some knifeless tape 45138504-7AE9-4C1B-A493-BA10678E4B3A.jpg 345EF74C-B3F2-4411-9365-C7A4658B26E7.jpg B21CF532-A7C6-4558-9B85-1158BD43FDE8.jpg

Can't be a mid-life crisis because I'm already 3/4 of the way around the block. It must be a mod-life crisis.

Ordered the Tuffy Security Console and optional angle-activated LED light. Aside from one screw that I'm getting replaced, it feels like it'll dissuade any potential smash and grabbers. It doesn't use a full steel box, but rather has steel legs that fold down and stabilize the top inside the console area. Someone really determined could take some time to cut or saw through the console from the side plastic area, but i'm not hiding Rolexes in there or anything.

Pros - well-built enough to dissuade quick theft, cheaper than a couple of the other brands (about $100 less), retains your ability to use the car cigarette lighter port, design maximizes space

Cons - Since the design maximizes space via having a cage as opposed to a fully-enveloped box, it's inherently slightly less secure, only option to have a combination lock is for 3-digits, and that costs another $40 or so to have installed at the factory, my little organizer trays etc...that were my earliest upgrades to my truck are now obsolete!

Overall, it's still a big step-up in terms of having a secure place to put your items, or carry weapon, etc...when you're going somewhere you can't have a firearm, or if you're hiking and don't want to bring your wallet, etc... The light design is nice too and worth the $35 on top.

The good and the bad......I think the good outweighs the bad. My daughter has had a cell phone since she was 7. The good is she never lost it......I could call, talk to her just about anytime, except school times, but right after school etc, peace of mind of sorts.
Do you live on the big island or Oahu? Just curious......spent a few years typically in the late fall surfing mostly North Shore...back in the early 90’s. Beautiful place....mostly in the water.

Yeah, my little girl is now 19, in college, plays 2 person beach volleyball for her university, D1 top tier, I chase her around the country to watch her play, we spend lots of time together but she is very independent now, a good thing......a sort of not so good thing for dad wanting the daughter needs me thang. :sadviolin:

    Technology check....
When she was about 7 years old she came up to me in the summer, said she was bored. I told her go to the swimming pool or park, or watch videos or play computer games.
She asked me what did I do as a kid. I told her all I had was a bicycle and a B.B. gun.
She said that was boring. I told her well we didn’t have a DVD player or a computer.
She said, why? Were you poor?
Age check.....uh no they weren’t invented yet.

I know... It is crazy when I think back to the simpler times. Damn, even I would be bored if I had to go back to the times before cell phones, ipads, internet, etc.

My kids and grandkid look perplexed when I tell them we only had 4 tv channels. 2 were in color but most shows were black and white. We did have a remote. It had up and down channel and power buttons. A whole lot of Superman, the 3 Stooges, the Lone Ranger and Bungles the Clown (our local Bozo). From the age of 7 I spent sun up to sun down on my bike or at the ball fields. Had a blast every day. Such a simple good and safe life. Now I get paranoid if my grandkid rides her bike out of my sight.
PS life did get better at age 14 when I got my Honda Super 90. Anyone remember those.

My dad had a remote too. He would swat me on the head and say, "boy, go change the channel"...

"What did I do to my 3rd Gen today ?"

Cleaned it up and the drove it to pick up my bride at the local Toyota mothership where she was getting her 5,000 mile service. For some reason they offered her a loaner and other perks that my old arse never heard mention of it when my Taco was there for it's 5K service a few weeks back. Hmnnnnnnn.......

    Sizzle. Sizzle.

    Nope....this is normality.

Mid life crisis will occur for me in a couple years when son graduates from college and gets off the payroll....I'll hit my 50's and then add a muscle car to the garage. As crazy as I am over my Taco........I truly fear the future feels I'll have for this future GT350, SRT or other. I'd better get it fully loaded from the get-go as it'll take all my "mad-mod-money" to keep tires on it.

    Love it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Way better than the config I currently have.

    Well said, sir.......well said !!!!!!!

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
So it has come to this.

Ordered a few things for the Taco today (new wheels, new tailgate liner from Mobtown, stuff for the airbox mod, etc.). On the last order, my card was declined. The bank had put a hold on my account. I called them up to find out what was going on. Turns out it was just the "unusual activity". In other words "We know you. You're a cheapskate. You NEVER spend this much in one day.".

    Sigh.
