I'd go 4.88 for sure. But why do you want 37's.... They look way too big on Tacoma's IMO.
As for 'Posi-trac', do you mean a limited slip, or a locker?

i have 4.88s with 35's also and the combination is great, and i also have detroit lockers in the rear, which i am guessing is what your trying to looking for. I had my local offroad shop build my truck but i am not sure about the gen. 2 and what is available but im sure there is the same. But the truck rides out great i love it.

4.56 will give you about the same ratio as stock, 4.88 will be a bit taller. Seeing as you have 37'' tires mpg is a non issue therefore I say go big or go home, 4.88!

well im a 2 wheel drive. not sure how much lift i have because i have 4 inch spindles mixed with 885. im suppost to have 7 inches but u need about 9 to clear 37s so im saying 9. i want to put a locker in the rear would that fixed the carrier if i want to run 4.88? and ive only had the truck a year but ran it hard so should i get new bearings?
