I work at a cement plant. There’s nights I go out to my truck, and the windshield wipers with fluid, won’t even put a dent in the stuff stuck to my windshield, and that stuff is all over my truck.

It does drive me nuts at times, and no matter how careful you are when cleaning it drying or it, you will still see swirls or scratches, but I love it. There’s no better color of truck on the road, when it’s freshly cleaned, then a black truck. (However, approximately 2-3 hours later, your black truck will look dirty already. :goingcrazy:)

I doubt that. I had 2 frontiers back in the day the first one was good the second one "Never Again" burned me after 150k. I have been with Toyota ever since and have no intentions of ever going back.

The new black is nice. It's not just black. It looks good even if it's not buffed and polished every 3 minutes. I love mine! First black vehicle too. No regrets here

If you want to black out your Tacoma and be like everyone else then sure. Or you could go red or even inferno and join the cool crowd... No peer pressure.

In the forty years I have been driving, I have owned two new black vehicles: A 1989 Corolla GTS and a 2010 Toyota 4Runner. It took me exactly one day after buying the 4Runner to remember why I only had one black vehicle before it...

If you love black paint jobs prepare to love visible scratches.

    These are my black beauties.

They are both garaged and this makes a difference especially with black vehicles. I only need to "wash" my vehicles about once every couple months except of course if they got rained on. The key is to keep it waxed. I wax mine twice a year. This way the main culprit is dust. Dust shows more on black especially deep waxed black. So an arsenal of microfiber towels, a California Car Duster, and Maguire's spray detailer are all I need to keep them nice.
It's not that bad. To me black adds class to a vehicle.

If you're going to get a new black truck, do the following to start off right:

Tell the dealer to NOT wash the truck before you pick it up. Make this very clear. The dipshits WILL put swirls in it.
Take it home and wash it with 2 buckets (one for rinsing your mitt), a new microfiber wash mitt, and something like Chemical Guys Clean Start (only use this stuff when you WANT to remove all your wax, a clean start!).
Dry it with a leaf blower, I have a $25 Black and Decker that only gets used to dry vehicles. Finish drying with a microfiber drying towel, as little as possible. Always dry it this way, using the towel as little as possible.
Apply your wax or sealant. I like Klasse, an acrylic product ( ), but there are tons of good products out there.
The black detailer sprays are great for an after wash treatment. There are also some good waxes specifically for black paint.

+1. I won't let Lexus touch my RX like they want to after service-you have to practically beg them not to-repeatedly. And I've been using Klasse since 1986 when I could only find it at a Porsche dealer. I swear by it. I apply it, go eat lunch, then the take-off is with a microfiber towel cycled through a warm water bucket and a swift buffing followup, one spot at a time and you cannot believe the armoured finish this brings.

It's a truck....so really, who gives a shit if it's shiny and clean all the time. As long as you occasionally get it washed/waxed to protect the paint, but you'd have to do that with any color.
