Will do. They seem to hold up quite well after a year. How much weight would you say you carry in the rear?

I've had HD Dakars for a couple years now. I have 400-600 pounds in the back of my truck at all times and I tow frequently. Truck rides great. I'm very happy with them. Here's a pic I just took.

Remember that a spring with too much arch doesn't have much down travel left in it.

Roughly 325lbs w/o RTT and 540lbs w/RTT. I usually carry a 30in cooler and 2 jerry cans when i go on trips; so I'm probably pretty close to 650-ish fully loaded.

Also forgot to mention; we added longer rear shock end links to get the 1.5in of travel that we lost.

Good to know. Me and friends are planning a trip to moab utah in under a month and i will have maybe 300 extra pounds added in addition to a cap and bed platform. These springs should be exactly what i need.

If I did the install again, I'd remove the second overload leaf to reduce the lift by about 1/2". With all that weight in the truck, I have a full 3" of lift in the rear.

I don't remember which Dakar pack I bought, but I put in the AAL too. I have 8 leaves in my pack.

It looks simular to @turbosmitty 's maybe you have the El095r? I think thats what they call the medium duty ones. The only difference between the two packs is just an extra leaf i believe. Or you have the older version? No clue:confused:

Looking on the Headstrong Offroad website, it looks like the standard (MD) pack has 7 leaves. I basically have the HD pack since I put in the OME AAL.

Yep, that's equivalent to the HD pack. I did the same and noticed I got more lift than anticipated as well. Having to mess around with axle and carrier bearing shims now to try and eliminate my take-off vibrations. The packs started squeaking pretty bad after just a few months of use, sounds like I have a beat to shit truck but the truck only has 50k on it and the packs are less than a year old. Might take apart and re-grease at some point but so far I've just been living with it.

I had read about squeaky Dakars in the past. Before install, I took the pack apart and put some strips of bike tire inner tube in strategic places, as well as a bunch of zip ties. Two years in, and many hard miles, and they're still pretty quiet. I'll see if I can dig up the post showing what I did.

I've read your post about it before. I had Dakar mail me the spacers (yellow plastic doohickeys) they make specifically for the AAL to address the issue but it's still happening. I suspect it might be the bushings and not the pack itself, though I'm using Headstrong's bushings and supposedly those are already better than Dakar's.

I also have the headstrong bushings. No noise. I think noise tends to come from where the second leaf wraps over the top leaf.

I'll give zipties and inner tubes ago if I pull it back apart. I would've done it before but they guys at ARB seemed confident the cushions they provided eliminated the need

Update: Just finished up installing my new packs last night and center of hub to fender height is now 25". Very happy with the height, and the install was very easy. I packed the yellow ome bushings with red grease and clamped them down in a vise. Took me just under 4 hours to install them and am very impressed with how these things ride. Il get some photos of how the truck sits later on today. Also if anyones interested in my old standard duty all-pro leafs just pm me.
