It was part of a fleet I think. The original owner was DOT in a southern state, I think NC.
It's awesome! I like riding higher.

I got 5100s on all 4 with the Deaver single AAL from HeadStrong and I love it, but I want to go higher. So I'm looking at Icons with 650lbs coils. Maybe 700s, since I'll have steel bumpers, sliders, and skids, Plus god knows what else.

Got home from work today, and did some work outside. Wife wanted to plant some flowers so the kiddos helped. It was hot and humid, rain in the forecast, so I finally put down Agway Step 1 fertilizer on the lawn since it was going to rain, so it could get into the ground. Not a downpour, just a steady light rain, which is perfect for that.

I passed that yesterday but didn’t have time (or the patience for RT1 traffic) to turn around and check it out. Looks clean!

Man, today was a fail for my stereo install.

Long story short, the new HU is in there, but I only got 1/3 of the things I had planned.

I had purchased a front camera, a rear camera and a switching device. After I ripped the car apart I decided against doing the front camera since I didn't feel like pulling the firewall wiring and the car is so low in the nose that it's likely I'd have ripped off the camera. I wired up the radio harness and was all ready to go, except for some reason my system had two remote wires hooked up. One was connected to the original HU's remote turn on, the other to the adapter harness's power antenna wire. Since I didn't feel like digging through the car, I kept the wiring the same as it was and thought I was good to go. I hook everything up as space is extremely limited with 3 sets of RCAs and test it out and I've got nothing for sound. For whatever reason the HU isn't outputting any power to the remote turn-on wire. I grabbed my DMM and confirmed both that lead as well as the antenna wire were both 0V. So I jumped the remote wire to the switched +12V on the harness and got my audio back.

Now, the C5 suffered from weird GM sized radios, much like every GM car before and after, so my bezel had been customized at some point for a double-DIN setup. Well, the C5 bezel fits poorly on a good day, so trying to get everything to line up was tough. I had to adjust the bezel with a Dremel so naturally the results aren't nearly as clean as I'd like. A replacement bezel is $250 and my interior isn't perfect, so I can live with it for the time being. The bigger issue is the brackets were made from whatever the previous owner had laying around, so the HU doesn't sit in the bezel great, but that's not shocking. So long story short, everything was in. There were a bunch of pull it out and put it back in to make sure all the connections were right. There is basically no room to work behind the HU on a C5, so if I were to do it again, I'd probably grab a new harness kit, bezel, real mounts and rethread all the holes with machine screws instead of the garbage that came with the car.

So all I had left was the rear view camera. I pulled the wiring to the back of the car, tapped the reverse lamp to power it up, shifted the car into reverse with the ignition on and the HU went into reverse mode and nothing. Checked the voltage that camera and wasn't getting enough voltage, so I started the car and got the voltage up to 12V and still got nothing. Checked with my second camera and again, nothing. Then I noticed the reverse bulb was melting the foam behind the bumper, so that was fun. Finally said screw it, went on Amazon and returned the camera(s) and everything and got the HU in. At least right now the CarPlay works although it's lame that the only navigation app that works with it is Apple Maps.

So, I'm happy that I can make phone calls, charge my phone and have more music in the car, but I'm disappointed nothing else worked how I wanted it to.

When I got my tacoma from IRA toyota I told them not to bother with the dealer decals and they still put them on... I immediately pulled their puffy stickers off in the dealer parking lot...I hate advertising the dealer...the worst ones around are HARR with the finish line flag...so obnoxious..

    Fertilizer??
I used to do that till the light bulb turned on.
Nice lawn with fertilizer = twice the amount of work and cutting.
I'm so not into that anymore.

Note: Nuno, Kidding aside, Read up on that shit.
Some of it is toxic to kids and pets.

    Morning everyone! TGIF at last!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I need to use it because my yard gets a lot of those purple flowers, and dandelions... looks like shit. I don't let my kids go on the grass for a few days, and I purposely try to only put it down when I know it's going to rain either that day or the next, so it can "sink" into the ground, and it's not just laying on the grass for them to see/touch/play with/whatever the heck they feel like doing.

I honestly don't mind cutting grass, and being outside doing that sort of stuff. It's my "me" time, where I don't have to worry about jack shit!

GM radios are usually 1½ din, and shallow compared to standard radios. I had a single din radio with an external relay and DC converter on top of the RCA connections and standard harness. Had to somehow have a hand behind the radio to position everything while shoving it into the dash of my WS6.

If I killed off all of the weeds in my lawn, I wouldn't have any lawn left!
I don't fertilize mine, either. I just leave the cuttings and let them decompose in place, unless I've been really lazy and let it grow long enough that I have to use the gas mower instead of the reel mower, since the gas mower shoots it out in windrows rather than scattering it like the reel mower does.
