I had been not really doing much to my lawn but last year we got some nasty grubs that did decent damage in the backyard. I got a lawn company this year to fertilize and do grub treatments. More cost effective hiring them because buying the chemicals myself would have ended up only costing a little less and I just don't have the time/would rather spend my time elsewhere than to dedicate to it.

What they put on mine was the plastic lettering held on by double sided tape. I got lucky that it just popped off with no effort.

When I mow my lawn I don't use a bagger either for the clippings. It's better to leave them be, and they become "fertilizer" in a way, which is good for the grass.

    lol.

I like being able to mow without earplugs, and since I don't have a very large yard it doesn't really take any longer than a gas mower would. Plus no oil changes, no stale fuel to worry about, tuneups, etc.
It's healthier for the grass, too, since it acts like scissors instead of a club.

I was so happy when I picked up mine and the license plate frame was the only advertising on it :taco:

Same with mine. I still have it on there, actually. Been wanting a Bruins plate holder but am not a fan of any of the ones I've seen.

I fully understand the simplicity of not having to deal with gas. On Monday, I went shopping for a Stihl kombi weedwacker/pole hedge trimmer. After some deep contemplation and reflection , I came home with their battery version. Two separate units but one battery fits all.

With the new LI batteries electric units make sense for something like that, especially with how the ethanol fuel makes the gas-powered ones such a pain to keep running correctly.

For small stuff like my weedwhacker or chainsaw I always go electric. I use them so infrequently..

Were you looking at the commercial grade stuff??? I think that's a pretty penny. My buddy bought one of those, commercial grade, used, and still paid an arm and a leg for it.

For the chainsaw I've gotta go with gas. I'll sometimes cut for hours at a time and batteries wouldn't keep up. But the next time I buy a weedwhacker it'll be electric. I use one so infrequently that it just makes more sense than gas.

I'm getting one. The drive (which is one wheel, the front left) failed on my Honda mower and this time I am getting a reel mower.

Morning all. My winch came in the mail yesterday, I got the smittybilt x20 10k with synthetic line. It was on sale and also had a 50 dollar rebate, less than 500.00 on Amazon

I used mine all day 2 Saturdays in a row. In reality I didn't cut much but it takes time with my arm injury to move the stuff. If I would cut more often then yeah gas would be the way. Mine is corded though.

Probably if you hit a rock with it or something. But other than that probably never. I've only had to sharpen the blades on my cheap-o Scotts unit once in 5 years, and it was absurdly easy. Basically it just consisted of smearing a grinding compound ($10 on Amazon, I think) on the flat cutting bar, adjusting it until the blades were rubbing it, and cranking it backwards for a few minutes until the blades are all beveled evenly again (I used my power drill, haha!). Then you rinse the compound off and it's all set.
