PS4 / Xbox One... Reviews in Progress

Surprised I havnt read anything about fortnite on this yet.

 

Sorry Xbox folks, but God of War is awesome. It seems to push the PS4 Pro pretty hard, though, I have not heard the fans spin up as high as they do on this game -- mostly while in the menu looking at the map, lol.

 

I agree. God of War is awesome. I hate that it's a single player game but we just get into a party chat and help each other out when we're all playing. The graphics are amazing but I noticed the same thing... This game pushes the pro pretty hard. It seems during the big fight sequences and things that require a lot of graphic power the fans will kick into high gear. I'm just glad mine is well ventilated. I wish I would have saved the game right before the first big boss battle. That was an epic fight with him pushing him with a tree through the forest, house, and into the rock. That fight lasted forever.

 

Missed this. The monitor is awesome for where I play. We have an office in the front room of our house so it's sitting on my desk right in front of me. I love the ultra wide monitors as it takes up my entire field of vision and the curved monitor just helps with that. It's not very cheap but it's worth it to me for the amount that I play on it.

 

Nice. I’m getting a new place soon ish. Will be turning a room in to an office/game room. I can’t wait to not have to switch monitors around to play video games haha

I never finished RDR 1 but for some reason Im excited for RDR 2.

 

RDR1 killed my PS3

 

I bought the XBOX ONE X mainly for RDR II. After watching the third trailer I can't wait for it to come out. The other one would be GTA 6.

For now I am happy playing Assassins Creed Origins for an hour or two each night.

 

LOL, that was one of the games I was playing when my HD went out. Had to start it over.

 

I played RDR and it is no doubt a fun game but my only issue is... I don't play single player games. I much prefer the social aspect of playing with friends rather than sitting around playing a game by myself. The only single player game that I've played recently is God of War but even then we are usually in a party chat and are talking about the game while we are playing. It works that way but it's still not as fun as playing "with" other people to me. The new expansion for Destiny 2 is coming out next week and they have made the game 100% harder which is exactly what I wanted. The game was way too easy before and they have finally reverted back to more or less the Destiny 1 formula which is fine by me. That is where I'll be spending most of my time. By the time RDR2 comes out the new expansion will also be out for Destiny 2 so I doubt that I'll have any time to invest in RDR. Looks like a good game but I probably won't be playing it. I'm just too social to play by myself. I just prefer playing with friends rather than sitting around by myself.

 

This is what I'm speaking of when I say that I only play with friends. We play a lot of multiplayer games and Grand Turismo Sport is one of those games.

This is a race between a friend of mine running the exact same cars, exact same setup on those cars, so it was about who's skill was better on the track. We finished this race with a time of .002 of a sec at the finish line (which is basically the width of the paint on the bumper of the car lol).

Two different camera views of the same race. No contact between our cars. Just a clean race to see who would come out on top.

And one lap of the Nurburgring in Circuit Challenge mode where you cannot modify any part of the car. To get gold in this race you have to finish the race with a time of 6:57.900. I finished with a time of 6:43.984 which places me 15th in the world (as of now). If I didn't run wide on three parts of the track I probably could have saved around 3 secs which would have put me in the top ten in the world. The Nurburgring is the most challenging track in the world and I have probably run this track no less than 10,000 times since it was introduced in earlier video games.

Here is my 6:43 run. On a side note... all of these races were done using a controller and not a wheel.

The final Shadow of War DLC is out May 8th and after that I'll need a new game

 

The ONLY single player game that I am looking forward to is The Last of Us part II

 

I am looking so forward to that. Have a feeling Fortnite will last me till then.

 

If only I could get you to join us for so social play

 

i may need to buy this still.. havent turned mine on in a while either though.

 

If you're anything like me I love racing games. In fact... Project Gotham Racing 2 was the very first game I ever played online on the original Xbox. I just couldn't believe that I could play with other people around the world and always find a game. Look how far we've come lol.

Grand Turismo is a great game and I really like how they run the online play. Your driving ability is directly tied to your safety level. So it keeps people from just running you off the track to try to get the win. You are penalized if "you" hit another car and it will automatically put a slowdown penalty on you so even if you come in first... depending on how you got there, you might actually come in last due to how many penalties you recieve.
