We paid 800 for Link. Worth every penny and would have spent 1300. We won't buy one again, we'll rescue, but I will never be upset about the money we paid for Link. We also paid the breeder for training in which we were involved with completely. Money well spent.

ok so not hijack or anything but dont really have time while i'm at work to sift through so just thought i'd ask, any 3rd gen guys around here change the grill out for the Pro? i have an '18 but don't want to spend more than a truck payment for one though...i know they have threads for them but was kinda hoping someone closer to me had some experience they could share... any help would be great thanks

oh dogs are worth a fortune in my eyes. hell, I just spent 2g's on my dogs ass in surgery and vet bills for something that wasn't even bothering him.

I'm just saying with THE OUTRAGEOUS AMOUNT of perfectly good, usually healthier (because they're muts), trainable dogs out there for rescue, I would NEVER spend anything more than fees to obtain a dog.

I have a friend from high school that breeds teacup dogs and whatnot and sells them for crazy money, and I'm just like "did you guys never hear Bob Barker say spay and neuter your pets?" we have too many to be intentionally creating more...

The reason we won't go the breeder route anymore is because of the massive amount of vet bills for Link. You spend a lot for the pup but then health problems anyway. He has torn both ACL's. We spent over $4000 for one knee. That doesn't include the money for infection meds, return visits (All the way to B'ham). I think we figured it to be well over $6000. About a year ago, he tore the opposite ACL. We decided to let it heal naturally. We should have done that with the first knee but we wanted him to have a full happy playful life and not hobble. He gets an arthritis pill every night. Some days are better than others and we also have pain meds just in case his unfixed knee is hurting him. Let me tell ya, he does better on the knee that isn't fixed than the one that is. A sickening reminder of the pain we put him through and the money we spent when we should have let God and nature take care of it.

I switched mine with the pro replica on my 16, I’ve heard of issues with safety sense on the 18’s with replicas though

My dog hurt her knee I'm assuming from a hole in my field and stepped in it.

Anyways vet said no issues except inflammation. So he gave some anti inflammatories and she's been in a kennel for a week except for small play, eat, and bathroom. No running and no playing with other dogs.

I remember the doc's orders for no running. We had to do that for 9 months after his surgery. That was a pain! What sucked the most is our vet here, did the first surgery using a nylon mesh. We'd hoped it would work so we didn't have to do the TPLO up in B'ham for $4000. The mesh didn't hold so that was 800 bucks down the crapper. Our vet, being awesome, did not make us pay for that surgery because it failed. He said Link has paid enough. We had to have another surgery to remove the nylon, then wait months for it to heal, then cut him open again for the TPLO. Poor guy went thru over a year of not being able to run.

I hope your pup heals quick!

I am not a knife person lol

Thanks, that does sound like an awesome vet.

My pup is already putting all weight on the foot, but keeping her put up just a bit more for healing.

yeah i want to get a '17 grill and make it work for my '18..since they are cheaper and more accessible...i've read plenty on how to and watched vids just wanted to hear from someone who went the cheaper route and made it work for them.. hence my name and my reason for it... would be another expensive "lesson" if i do it without some fine pointers... looks good on your truck by the way
