So either its poor engineering or a defective piece... In both cases, the dealership shouldve replaced it under warranty

"Off-Road" is too general of a term.

    This is technically Off-Road:
    231_231B-3.jpg
    and so is this:
    mud-bog-monster-truck-is-a-rc-4x4-semi-truck-off-road-beast-that-is-smaller-than-your-dog.jpg

Should you expect Toyota warrant your vehicle on both? I think we see more of their ads with Tacos on terrain like the first photo, don't you? That's not false advertising.

All I could think of is the other guy who had his whole back axle ripped off while reading this whole thread.

You could get his drum brakes or maybe help him get a warranty coverage? Lol. It’s covered right?

I thought he cleaned the drums for 5 months after the dealer told him to swamp his muds?

He doesn't state in the OP of this thread specifically when they failed, but we do know that he got informed of the mud back in december.

Hold up I found this post later on in that thread. This thread is full of conflicting info.

Good news though OP. Brakes are about as easy as it gets.Next time save yourself some money and fix it yourself. I would never pay 900 on brakes . Very easy and if you wheel a good thing to learn especially if they fail on the trail.

A proportionate valve should have detected the sudden loss of brake line pressure to the rear brakes and sealed off the front brakes.

This would have prevented the complete brake failure as described. Furthermore, should your rear brake components come apart, the hand brake wouldn't work?

    Or am I missing something?

I honestly don't know whether the brakes broke 5 months ago when he went into the dealership, or if he went to the dealership with mud in the drums, then didn't clean them, then had the brake issues...either way this has be going

Ok... So basically, EVERYONE IS ASSUMING OP DROVE SWAMP-DRUMS FOR 5 MONTHS WHEN HE NEVER STATED THAT.... Your Honor, this is slander and I would like the record to show that assumptions were made here based on factitious information based on nothing but imagination, I move to dismiss any further argument made by the defendant(s) till further clarification by OP
