    They do make front/rear cameras.

Best is subjective, but I got this one on the rec of some friends of mine that run them. Been very happy wit it. Sadly, its come in handy...

Edit: Where in Torrance? I used to live on 223rd and Vermont.

The person at fault will almost ALWAYS lie to the police.

My wife was in an accident years ago where a suburban ran the light and just clipped the rear of her car. Since she was turning left it defaulted to her at fault.
The dude said it was his fault at the time and said he didn't even see her but once the cops showed up his story changed.

I listened to her story and where the other car was when she started her left.
Took my rangefinder to the scene and got the range from from the intersection to where the guy was when she started to turn.
Since she started her turn when the light went yellow I got the time from yellow to red and calculated that the guy was either way over the speed limit to try and make the light or he ran the red and hit her.

In the end the insurance went with 50/50 but based on my analysis my wifes rate didn't go up.

If you have your wits about you post-crash, try to have the conversation in front of your vehicle. If your dashcam has a mic, it may catch it. Old cop trick before body cams.

I told the lawyer that 7/11 has a camera facing intersection and that the attendant heard it happen and looked. Some giy came out of the neighborhood behind where my truck lay dead and said "i heard the impact in my house"

    So....I turned these:

    Into these today:
    thumb_IMG_5363_1024.jpg
Been searching for 2nd Gen wheels and found a set, with decent tires & center caps, 20 mins. after they were listed, for $100!! :bananadance:
Yeah they are in rough shape, but I can fix that. The original coating is peeling with a little corrosion underneath, so I had them blasted. The tires are in decent shape and match the spare. ( 245/75R16)
The reason for the search is, 1st Gen. wheels. There is no clearance for the calipers!!!
    thumb_IMG_5211_1024.jpg

I did try them on first just to be sure, lots of clearance now.

This was freaking me out! First time ever using the jack...
    thumb_IMG_5360_1024.jpg

Thinking of going with gloss black vs flat, anyone have a preference?
    Now the re-painting fun begins.........

Only thing a high res might do better is catching license plates. Night time footage is quite good as well.

The parking monitor is pretty nifty too. If it senses a bump (sensitivity adjustable), it turns the camera on and feeds off an internal battery.

Downside of the parking attendant is that "medium" wasn't enough to kick on after being backed into by a semi truck (slow speed push) but "high" sensitivity turns on the camera if I close my door anything but lovingly. :notsure:

Assembled the OBA manifold and fuse holder then ran the supply line from the tank and return line to the passenger side air bag. Used a piece of Romex to fish them under the passenger seat. Pics later.
