I'm running 34x9.50's and regeared to 4:88's. It will now get up and go. With the stock 4:10's, it was constantly shifting in a strong wind or pulling a trailer. Now I don't have any problems. Cruises around 2200 rpm at 60 mph.

Anyone thinking about going skinny might want to take a look at eBay today.
    15% off most items listed.
I used to order 5 255/80r17 ST Maxx.

If you order through Discount Tire Direct on ebay and then call them they will price match plus some any lower price.

So far no complaints. Does a gravel parking lot count as off road...?

The ride is definitely different. It feels kind of squishy. Like if you aired way down. I have them at 35psi, but im thinking that may be too low. Im planning on doing the chalk test tomorrow (need to get some chalk first).

I will say, for a much more aggressive tire than my previous ones, they are no louder. I havent noticed any additional tire noise from them.

I'm not sure yet. Still running the tank through. Though I used to be able to go about 50-60 miles before the tank needle started moving from a full tank. I got to about 45 miles before the needle started moving on this tank. I should be through the tank by mid to end of next week and will be sure to post back.

The other thing I noticed is that my rpms went down for highway speeds. 70mph puts me about 1900 rpms in cruise control.

I have a local shop that is a cooper dealer. I called them around 8:30am, they ordered the tires and had them ready for install by 3:00pm.

I think it was about $240/250 installed. But I also got an extra warranty on them for $30/tire. If anything happens to the tire, they fix or replace free of charge. So total bill was around $1200.

Was wondering if anyone has a dedicated highway road trip wheel and tire package, like changing from stock 16" alloy wheels and Cooper Discoverer AT3's 265/75R16 to 16" Konig Countersteer Offroads and 235/60R16 tires with at least a load index of 83 at around 4,300 lbs for the weight of truck (4x4 access cab) plus me and a full tank of gas. Wondering how much weight savings there would be and fuel efficiency gained at an average speed of 75 mph. Also would be nice to have it for day to day commuting in the city where I don't need to put any wear on next set of 255/85r16 mud terrains.

    235/60/16?

That's a 27" tire, 4" smaller than stock size. Yeah you'd save some weight, but end up burning more gas because your RPM will be much higher at 75mph. Not to mention for every actual mile you travel your odometer will record 1.11 miles.

You would have better acceleration tho, but it'd probably look ridiculous too. I'd try something around stock diameter, 245/75/16 has lots of options, and there may be something like 235/80/16 out there.

Mainly because 2WD 5 lug access cabs have a similar size tire and yes it will look funny but no more funnier than a stock 5 lug. The stock wheels are 7" wide right? I've read the smallest width tire people have run on stock wheels is 215
