Cold start was 14.1, then dropped to 13.5'ish. Battery (DMM), Torque App, and voltmeter all show the same numbers with a variance of .1. I emailed Mike about it just to see if he has any thoughts. My alternator has put out these numbers (without plug) since the day I got the truck.

Remove the plug, 13.7 cold, 13.1-2 warm.

I have a buddy with his Tacoma heading over in few to try the stage one plug on. See what voltage his truck gets.

Did you end up getting this? I'm about to do a dual and dunno if which I should go with stage 1 or 2 and which type I need for the 3rd Gen.

Problem I ran into with a similar type of product.
I got a diode from hkb electronics. Was $80AUD and didn't work as the fuse you're supposed to replace doesn't exist in 3rd Gen. They were nice enough to refund me. But still looking for a solution to boost the voltage for the two North Stars I'm going to install.

Scan gauge shows 13.7 idle and 13.8-.9 when throttle. Measured at the battery cold of 14.08V

According to north star it's 13.4-13.8V float charge and 14.4 cycle.

Dunno if it was mentioned but doesn't work for 3rd Gen. I bought one. They were nice enough to refund me though. Which is why I'm here and from the sounds of it this won't work with 3rd Gen either

I didn't take it any further after I found that part number and image, as that sounded like the nail in the coffin to me.
Based on other research I've done, I believe the principle is still the same for 3rd gens. It would likely just take a different set of connectors vs the 2nd gens, but that still hasn't been physically verified.

I think I've settled on a different approach now anyway - Redarc BCDC for my house batteries, based on it's ability to charge using profiles specifically designed for each battery type, as well as the solar input since I'll be adding some in the near future.
I may revisit the diode idea at some point down the line, but would probably just wire it in myself if so.

I'm definitely interested to hear anything more that you may find out though. Please keep us posted.

Oh, and which stage you need depends on what battery type you have. For example, I think AGMs generally need ~14.6, but the standard flooded lead acid are more like ~13.8. (Don't quote me.) Just keep in mind that depending on how you wire everything up, your alternator will be sending a single voltage to both of your batteries, which is one of the reasons you should match them. Sounds like you'll already have that covered though.

Ya just bought $900 worth of batteries for this lol. Just need to make sure I'm getting the proper voltage to charge them .

I'm now considering a different charger whether it's ctek our bcdc but I wasnt planning on doing solar

My concern is it being AGM I'll have voltage and charging issues

It doesn't look like the booster is working. My stage 1 starts at 14.8 and drops to 14.1 after warm up. Without the booster my cold start was 14.1 just like your numbers.

just wondering if everyone who ordered got there booster? seems this thread kind of tapered off a bit. Came across this as I currently have a OGE dual battery set up with odysseys. looking to boost the voltage. not sure if this is still open for people to order?

been playing around making my own just kind of curious what peoples thoughts are after install?

currently I been just charging my batteries on a charger over night every couple weeks.

Bummer, I found this by chance hoping it would solve my charging issues with my Odyssey in my 3rd Gen but I suppose not. Hopefully he can find a solution; for right now I just throw it on an AGM charger every weekend.

I emailed Mike about this last month. He is still selling them at the original price (not group buy price), of course, but he hasn't responded back to my order. I was going to try to order again sometime this week.

Finally got mine in the mail Saturday November 17. I checked the voltage output to the battery without the booster, 13.9-14.0v, plugged the stage 2 booster in and and checked, 13.8v! I emailed Mike back to see what was up. I told him I will watch it on the way to work Monday 1hour (52 miles) to work and 1h30min (52 miles) home. I will monitor the voltage on my Pioneer DEH-80PRS Head Unit.

Yes. Sorry I forgot that I never responded. Mike was great to work with. I emailed him and told him that I would monitor it. He gave me troubleshooting instructions and verified that the booster was defective from manufacture. I offered to fix it in the field to which he would not even think about, replacing it free of charge. The replacement worked as expected and now I have a Tacoma that runs 14.5-15.2 V.

Ok thanks! Sounds very promising. I’ll email him and get an order started for a stage 2.
