Well that sucks. I'll probably just end up buying a double cardan one piece from Tom Woods at $479/shipped.

I have a 2.5" OME heavy lift with 33s but it should be okay as long as I make sure the rear pinion angle is correct.

I'm tired of messing with the damn thing and that appears to be the simplest solution.

I drove 350 miles at 55 mph in FWD to get home when the rear driveshaft broke. I understand it can be driven. But I drive on i-40 everyday for work, so for that reason it's useless to me.

:notsure: 8 hours at interstate speeds, commute to work in Charlotte, and from Charlotte to East coast gear supply. Far from useless even at those speeds, but I understand you're wanting to get it fixed.

Hey Gents, been a minute since I have checked in. Alot of my networking takes place on my Gram and FB. ig: @rtp_renegade
I got my Engo 9k, Master pull line and fairlead in. Wanted to know if anyone would be willing to help me install this bad boy, preferably someone who has been around winches, but beggars can't be choosers. I would be willing to pay a small fee for labor or in alcohol or food or whatever. Never handled a winch and could use a second set of hands to do it correctly. I would appreciate it very much. I can be reached here or at my personal 915-401-4663. Name's Grant.
Also, any wheeling events coming up soon? Just did URE last weekend and put my new RTT on earlier this week. Ready to go!
Take care all and stay zero.

The problem with one piece on a longer wheel base is they tend to be larger in diameter to prevent tube whip and are also more vulnerable when off road.
The Tom Woods price isn’t bad and he makes good product. Just know what you’re in for. Simple isn’t always better.

To bad someone doesn't make an off the shelf 2 piece with a double cardan at the CB for my long as truck. Have you had any experience with Triangle Driveshaft (if they are still around)? I have heard from a couple guys who used them but for drag racing shafts. Don't know if they have any experience or knowledge in making stuff for that off-road community.

Been my experience as soon as you say “Toyota” it’s either not possible or REALLY expensive. Been that way for years.
I had an ‘82 long bed that I needed a front shaft for, found one from an ‘84 but was 3.5” to long. I didn’t even want it balanced, just straight and useable. Was turned down by several driveline shops. Finally a customer of mine that I towed for cut it down and welded it up. I’d have done it myself if Id have had the equipment at the time. Gets frustrating after awhile
