Favorite Whiskey?

Y'all spelled 'bourbon' wrong.

 

Nothing against Kentucky, but if I could only have one style of whisky/whiskey for the rest of my life, it wouldn't be bourbon.

 

Point taken.

In my eyes, regardless of the law changes and corporate buy-outs/sell-outs, bourbon comes from the Bluegrass and all the rest is only and ever will be whiskey/whisky.

Yeah, me too. It was a good go-to for me, positioned really nicely between the regular Jim and the double oak.

Mostly true...however I do have a still sealed, boxed Duck Stamp Series Jim Beam circa 1983 kicking around...

 

Lol. I buy one, drink a bit, go buy another, drink a bit, repeat. Allows me to build up my collection and try different ones. As you can see I'm getting dangerously low on a number of them. Time to restock!

 

Been enjoying Bushmill's Black Bush as of recent.

 

I tend towards this as well. I like having a good variety on hand.

Just uncorked this one tonight. Old favorite. But it'll probably be six months or more before I finish the bottle.

 

Call me crazy, but lately I have been enjoying the Kirkland Small Batch Bourbon (Costco). It's pretty damn good.

I dunno, I don't do mixed drinks...but with ginger ale, how about a nice Indy brewery ale for a nice light Shandy

Either way, a visit from her favourite son will likely win over her day either way...good on ya

 

If she's just mixing it with ginger ale, why get something nice? Evan Williams tastes just like Eagle Rare 17 if it's drowning in soda, lol.

I'd say just go with a good middle-of-the-road bottle, personally.

 

Goslings Black Seal Rum actually blends really well (as well with Goslings own Ginger beer)

Yeah, she asked for a bottle of something nice (whiskey-wise). Will see her in June.

 

So I'm horrible at describing tatses and notes and shit in alcohol other than beer. I also haven't have regular bulleit. I am enjoying this one though. Definitely a little 'spicy' but I like it a lot.

 

I’m the same. I haven’t had enough experience with tasting to be able to describe it, so I basically just judge it on whether it’s smooth or not, if I can drink it neat, or on the rocks.
