Would you buy a 2008 with 100k miles?

I am looking at a 2008 Tacoma Access Cab with 4wd, 4cyl, 5spd and no other options. The truck looks and drives like it's brand new although it has 100k miles. It's a one owner with clean carfax.

They are asking for 15k, what do you think?

IMO, I'd say no. 100K miles on an 08 is just too much. For 15K, you can find a better truck out there to suit your needs.

Maybe if he was selling for 10K..

 

I dont remember the price exactly but back when my old trucks frame failed near the end of march I got an 07 with just a little over 18,000 miles on it 4wd, 4 cyl, 5spd for like somewhere around 15,2 or so. So I would definitely say don't pay near that much for a truck with 100K miles IMO. Hope this helps you some

Edit: Just realized you said it was an access cab, mine is a reg. cab, but still with the miles it has I'd say hold off for something with fewer miles.

 

Go to pickuptrucks.com or wait until you find something on here there is well taken care of trucks on this site for sale. For the price your wanting to pay i would find something that is BA. You can get something a hell of a lot better than that truck....

 

That truck obviously spent a lot of time on the freeway, so mechanically it is probably fine, but 15k seems a little steep.

 

Thats alot of miles for basically a 2 year old truck but $15,000 for something with that many miles is way too much.

I agree with some of the other posts that $10,000 or even just slightly less would be more reasonable for the Tacoma if you still want to get it.

My neighbor has 120k miles on a 2008 F350. He uses it for work and drives all over in it. As long as the maintance has been completed, it'll go another 100k. If it's from a dealer, inquire if that price includes a warranty.

Try talking his ass down. They generally put a buffer in the price so they can get bartered down to what they actually want to sell it for. Offer him 12K and see what he says.

 

X2 12k at the most, IMO. The truck will go another 100k easily anyway. 15k is too much since it's out of warranty

 

Smart move IMO.

 

If someone is that 'busy' that they put 100,000 miles on it that short of time, i would highly question whether the maintenance schedule was followed during the course of that 100,000.
