    Morning all:
    Happy birthday also Mark!

    Hi Sue!!!!!!!!!!

Darn, could have been done turkey hunting today again, I had 3 jakes come in together and left them go, I think I'm pushing my luck!
This morning was definitely the coldest morning that I ever turkey hunted. I was never cold before wearing the same clothing, but this entire morning up to 11:30 I was cold.

    Afternoon all:

 So far have never ran into that here! I know awhile back we were sitting on the Delaware River fishing for shad around this time, it was cold, the next day we had our warmest hunting clothing on and were glad we did!

Good morning Susan and gang, up real early today. Couldn't hold it, so stayed up, cup of Joe, let the cereal water heat on the woodstove. Head out shortly for some firewood with the Repo pup. Finished one of five rows in my wood shed yesterday. Seems in the past it went faster!
We backpacked up the FS road maybe 90 minutes Monday afternoon, Repo had a blast after setting camp up. Tore the country up, chasing sticks, chunks of wood, same thing in the morning. He slept most of Tuesday. :)

Sure not a longbeard, but a legal PA gobbler with a 4" beard. I had called in a hen and she was clucking and yelping like crazy looking for the "other hen", pretty soon I heard a gobble at a distance and then I let her do all the calling, it worked! :D
Passed up one on Sat., passed up one on Mon., yesterday I only saw only 1 hen, today was CRUNCH TIME!

When almost to my spot to cut some firewood this morning, saw a hen and I'm guessing three of her offspring from last year, scurrying up the hill. Same spot, close to where I was camping last year by a few hundred feet.
Got another nice load of Doug Fir, in this area, most desirable after Oak of course.

    Congrats!

Saw 4 Jakes yesterday with lockjaw just out of range. Sat most of the morning today ,other than a couple far off gobbles before daylight, nothing seen or heard.
Funny ,it was Winter on Monday with snow flurries and 90* right now.
    I'll be hunting in a T-shirt tomorrow.o_O

    Thanks!
Other than a few early morning tree gobbles on a ridge across from where I hunt, and none close to me, I heard very little gobbling. On Sat. I heard a couple gobble out in the field next to where I hunt, but couldn't get them to come in. Of the 6 gobblers I saw, 5 didn't make a sound before I heard them clucking, two came in together today and I only heard that one gobble at a distance, I didn't hear a single tree gobble this morning.
Like my buddy likes to say "they aren't talking too much"!

Thanks Gary, was hoping for a longbeard at full strut but maybe that wasn't going to happen! I figured after 4 days where I usually hunt, and not seeing any longbeards, I better settle for what's being offered before the offerings run dry!

I've been up since 4 - pretty much normal for me. Busy weekend at the college: had a capstone dinner planned and prepared by our Culinary and Hospitality seniors on Thursday, an all-day leadership conference yesterday, today we have the football team's Blue/White game followed by a cocktail reception to kick-off a fund-raiser for our new athletic meeting facility and then tomorrow is our Honors Convocation Ceremony. Then, two-weeks from today is our commencement exercise.

    Work...

Checked the schedule and see a few morons coming through the shop.
Then see a couple of vehicle with like a bazillion miles on them for stuff that will turn into crap very late in the day.
Good news is a have Prius battery to replace today or Monday. That will give me a little time...

Been slowly swapping rubber off the wife’s Jeep. Bring a wheel in every day and put a new tire on it and swap it when I get home. Don’t want to make a special trip to the shop on a day off and ruin my free time.

    FREE TIME ?..

Fishing tomorrow I hope in the am then rip up another section of driveway crack and pound in some cold patch..
I really need to clean the garage from winter. Looks like hell.

Off to a pistol Point Shoot competition this morning.

Have not decided about the afternoon. Possible rain here this afternoon. If so would be a good time to reload some ammo.
