Yea, but it's kinda funny to pull a wad o' cash out of your ashtray to pay for a campsite on the fly. And firewood too..always a laugh to see people's faces when you slide out your ashtray and it's filled with cash..

Finished installing the Kicker subs in the rear speaker positions: wow, with the Polks up front and the Kickers in the back, it's better than most home systems!! :woot:

And, that is without an external amp! :rimshot:

Fit easily into the rear speaker positions. Just had to drill 4 new holes into the old speaker mounting plastic under the factory grill, wire it up, and snap the grill back on.

DIN standards started before WWII. Panther and Tiger tanks used DIN standards. Boom!

Added ARE fiberglass raised cap & Sony CD head-unit w' aux-input
Hack jobs happen all the time!
I got lucky with my '96 Tacoma. The PO's installer did use an adapter harness for the aftermarket (and DOA) Sony CD-radio. Found a good Sony unit at Pick-N-Pull for $25, so plug-n-play, and added a front aux-input. I've no use for USB (yet).
Not so great were the cheap 6x9 Kenwoods and oversize speaker boxes deck-screwed to the rear wall. So boomy and muffled by the seatback, that it sounded OK only with the fader adjusted to kill them!
    Unfortunately, it's a std-cab - so no handy rear factory speaker-holes.
I swapped the Krappy Kenwoods for a pair of 2-way, 40-watt, aluminum-case Optimus speaker boxes discreetly zip tied to the floor behind the seats.
    So much better!!!

    Happy Motoring, Mark
