You use an install tool? I've always just pushed them on.

You'll want a removal tool, but installing is easy as lube, and push on.

I saw a tool that sits on the shoulder and pushes there, not on the Viton, and liked the idea. It even had a pin that slides into the guide, helping keep things square and prevent gouging.
I just found out my craftsman 10mm slips right over the spring and rest squarely on the shoulder, should be good enough.

Just dont go using a hammer or dead blow to put them on. You may end up doing more damage than good at that point

I haven't had an issue. Some say it's rough on the oil seals. Just let your turbo cool down if it not water cooled

@05Taco4x4 yes. Setting the bore gauge by a mic is one way, using gauge blocks is another. He measures the bore correctly too. I did that on mine but the numbers were much closer then his actually. For a 220k motor my block is in great shape.

I didn't make a chart, just looked to see if was in spec on each and mentally did the math for our of round and taper. The specs I had found are very tight and I question if they need to be. In that video his specs say .0024 out is ok the ones I had say .0005 which just seems silly. I was about .0007 on the worst cylinder though.

That's what I had from my previous link and according to that I'm slightly out on cyl 2 and 4 but 4 had the best compression overall and is only out by like .0002 so I'm just gonna hone and call it good.

Were I turboing I might recut just to be sure.
