Yes you are correct. I've used camera's in the past, just not this advanced. Learning curve has begun

Good thing is you have one that will take you a long way in photography. Bad thing is all the features take a while to learn especially when you're not used to them. :D

Really it all works down to preference. I hate matrix metering which takes a overall reading for exposure. Center weighted exposes for what I'm photographing which is where I put the single focus point. I usually leave mine in the center unless I'm using a tripod then I'll move it. Otherwise I focus on my subject and recompose for the shot holding the shutter button half way down. If it's a tricky situation with lighting for a person I focus and use the AE-L Botton to expose for the person's face. When photographing people you want to focus on their eye. Recompose your photo then take the photo. The person will be exposed correctly every time that way. You may overexpose or underexpose the background that way depending on the situation. But, when you're doing a photo of a person then you want them to look good in the final image because after all they're the subject.

With the aperture (opening of the lens) it works a couple of ways. It lets more/less light in and also affects how the depth of field is. IE how out of focus the foreground/background will be. We won't get into how the whole thing changes when you add a flash, that's a whole other ballgame.

To confuse things even more the shutter speed also controls more/less light but also affects if something is in focus or blurred. That is what you use for stopping motion. Rule of thumb is you don't shoot a shutter speed less than the focal point of your lens. So if you're using a 55-200 at 100mm you won't shoot at less than 1/100 but to be safe 1/125 would be a better choice. If you start seeing photos that just aren't sharp look at focus point first and then shutter speed. If you missed the focus point then you're just SOL from the get go. If it's not in focus and you know the focus point was dead on then it's shutter speed being too low.

    Confused yet? :D

It will all come in time. Best thing to do now is start shooting and get used to it and play with some of the features. Read all you can about how things work.

Thinking about debadging kind of worried about ghosting, but have about 36k on truck spent most of life inside but had its fare share in blazing sun at work etc. Its a 14 MGM think i will have much issues with fading?

I debadged my shell it was from a 2009 truck and bought around same time. It has a noticeable outline from fading in the rear. Maybe it is just noticeable to me as noone has mentioned it. This is what has me worried about my doors and gate.

One of the guys that works there is a buddy from a jeep forum. I am impressed with the quality of the parts. I read a thread from a guy that built one with 1000's of rounds through his and spoke highly of them. I'm sure I could have pieced other parts together for a cheaper price, but I have a thought that with all major parts from the same manufacturer, they should play well together.

At times I have one door that has slight ghosting. Just depends on the light and has faded more with washes and waxing. Also, have some light scratches where I removed. I threw some Scratch Doctor on it. Wasn’t sure if I would like debaged but very happy how it turned out. I toss it up all up to a DYI project and I’m no Chip Gaines. I’ve been thinking about getting some matte black decals that have mountains or graphic with Tacoma for the rocker panels. Just not sold on that yet.

Thanks. I want to redo that one. It was dicey parking the bike right there. She wasn't leaning towards the kickstand at all and I was afraid it'd fall over.
