Well, Huston, we got a problem!

Monroe muffler did an alignment last summer and galled the LCA bolt while bending a tab flat. Of course it's not something the auto part store has on the shelf. Also, a lower shock bolt rusted to the bushing. Had to cut the bolt. Sooooo, off to the hardware and auto parts store for a new shock bolt and die to chase the threads.

Hope everyone's Saturday is going well!

Wife and I hiked Mt monadnock this morning .got there at 8 and the summit just before 930. Hadn't warmed up yet and the winds had to be 40 MPH+ at the summit. All and all a great time though.

What is with the taco and these tabs, I’ve read about a lot of people measing that up. Gonna only do mine at Toyota to be safe.
Looks great! It was definitely windy this morning!

Vibe is a fantastic brand for the money. I’ve heard great things about the sea ghost. I would go with 11 personally over 13. 13 might track better but it’s harder to transport and 11ft is more than enough. Mine is 12 and I sometimes feel like it would be too long for a lot of places around here

Got the truck all back together. I wasn't able to locate a new lower cam bolt or M14x1.5 die but I was able to use a 10.9 grade nut to chase the threads. Monday, it'll get aligned at a tire shop.

Why did I use Monroe last year? I know one of the mechanics. So when they aligned it, I ended up taking it back as the steering was really light and it would dart around - no enough caster. The manager aligned it the second time. You can see where the tab was flattened and then the threads were all rounded from an impact I presume. I formed the tab back into shape and after chasing the thread, the bolt tightened properly.

    Morning all.

I was going to have an alignment at a tire shop tomorrow but changed my mind and made an appointment at Firestone to get a lifetime alignment there. Any reason not to use Firestone?

My favorite was the 'Pigeon series' - The Pigeon wants to drive the bus, etc... Also, the classic 'Are you my mother?' :D

    Good times!

They’re just like any chain, all depends on who’s working at that particular branch. See if you can find reviews about that branch in particular, but otherwise, it no more of a crapshoot than going to any other place unless you know the tech doing the work or have a recommendation.
