Since we have a zombie thread going, I might as well go for it.

I sold my old car and put cash from my savings account down. My parents covered the difference. Yeah yeah, I know whatever.

My wife and I didn’t have any financial issues. I was just sick of my student loan payments the most. So we followed Dave Ramsey and paid off her car in February and then we paid off my Tacoma a few weeks ago. Student loans will be paid off in 11 months. Then it’s save save save

Yes, and I immediately started putting a car payment a month into a savings account. I've done this for fifty years, at 73, I've never paid a car payment to a financing company and never bought a new car or truck.. Paid cash for a 2014 Tacoma just this year.

Bought the 2104 Tacoma this January before that I had an '05 Frontier that was beginning to cost a fortune (first year of a new model was not my smartest move). I had a friend in the Army who was an accountant (Fighting Finance), he taught me that trick of always making a car payment but into a savings account and when the time comes, search long and hard for the used vehicle of my liking. It made sense to me and I stuck with it. Having no credit history my first credit card was a little hard to get - my dad actually had to co-sign for me to get one. Kind of embarrassing at twenty-three.

It’s a 2017, Paid in full with a trade in (2014 F150) some cash and $5,000 on the VISA (think air miles). Then I paid down the card in two payments.

Oh, and when you do, open a savings account and continue to pay the payment, less a bunch a bucks for the interest that you will not pay to a financing company on your next truck. If you do, in years to come, I will be gone but you will remember me and you will pass it on.
