The only knock I have is the plastic undersized bed rail T-nuts. But turned out to be an advantage as I can sneak it past my Snugtop hidden clamps. The other included hardware is standard stuff. Mounting bracket for the bed rail is solid steel. The other mounting hardware I threw back in the box. Seemed like solidly built upon my quick glance while in the air to the box. Felt heavy enough.

The actual tank is surprisingly heavy. A little more than I was expecting. Actually, would have like it with a little less heft. But, then it wouldn't be a Day TANK. Just thinking ahead about the times I will have to haul it to a water source. The fittings seem like standard stuff. Sprays water a long distance. Overall a well put together package.

Recieved my Waterport. Quick question: I unscrewed the cap on top to find plastic shavings and grease all over the threads. Is this normal? Should I clean it up before using for drinking water?

Not sure why, but my cap was greased up too. I don’t plan on drinking from it, but I will end up cleaning out. I waited over the weekend to see if this thing will hold pressure for more than a few days. Will test tonight. No luck with pressurizing with pump on first try , but I’m going to try again with a legitimate bicycle pump once I buy one.

hey everyone... in relation to some of the pressure questions... i actually emailed them about this a couple of weeks ago. here's the thread for your reading FYI:

    Hi Tom,

Glad you’re liking it! The valve doesn’t automatically flip to perpendicular. You’ll fill up the tank and then once it reaches the right pressure, the water stops going in the tank. Then you need to flip that valve to perpendicular, and then go turn off your hose at the spigot. And it’s possible that a little water will come out of that hole you mention if your pressure is really good.

Does that all make sense? Let me know if not and we can give you a call to go over it!

    Thank you,

    Scott McWilliams

Subject: RE: Waterport from Costco missing neoprene sleeve

Question for you. The valve (fill) on the hose side is supposed to turn itself off when the tank is full… meaning turn from perpendicular to parallel with the hose? That doesn’t seem feasible to me. Or I am misunderstanding the “fill valve”.

My other question is the additional adapter that seems to go between the fill valve/quick connect, and the hose itself. Maybe that’s the fill valve. I see a small hole on it… does it release pressure somehow when full?

The instructions are missing a few labels for us idiots

Hey guys. So I finally had time to put the tank over the weekend. Here’s a picture of it with the tonneau cover. I made a plate to lower it. Also, I bought his mini bike pump for when the pressure starts to go down. I let the pressure out intentionally to try it out and it works perfectly. It also has a psi meter.

Yes, a short hose and spray nozzle should be in a black bag.

Yes hose and nozzle as well as neoprene tank cover. Dumb question but have you checked all the smaller boxes inside the main box? Contact waterport directly. Great customer support.

    HI Guys,

Adrian with the WaterpORT! The grease is a food grade grease that helps seal the washer(vaseline). We have been notified that some customers did not receive their pressure regulator. This will cause your tank to not work correctly. I have attached a photo of the exact piece. If you did not receive this please email me at africk@thewaterport.com. If you guys have any other questions feel free to reach out I'm here to help! my personal number is 7604456377

I'm installing the onboard pressurized water system in the next week or two and once I do I'll have no need for my waterport. Was going to keep both but the waterport doesn't mount into the bedrails of my Leitner bed rack :(

So right now I have the waterport hitch mounted but thats a no go for me once I actually offroad with it so I'm only using it to wash off my surfboards for a few weeks then was gonna sell it on craigslist. Paid $129 shipped with tax from costco was gonna sell it for that amount on craigslist used.

For another TW member I guess $100 + shipping would be fair? Just have no idea what shipping would run and again I still need it for another week or two max until I install my new system :)

@Socaltacoma1224 i am happy to comment on the new and improved water port. After two failed attempts with the brass fitting Adrian sent me a new replacement with the nylon fitting and it works and holds pressure as doesn’t leak. I have in mounted and ready to go for surfing and taking the dog on beach walks. I really truly appreciate every thing from you guys I am a very happy customer now.2625E751-8E48-4706-AD41-E726C0BB62D7.jpg

    HI Guys,

If you received this cap please let me know by emailing me at africk@thewaterport.com, I will send you a new one that is much easier to grip and take on and off. All I need is your shipping address.

    Thanks,
    Adrian
