Just wanted to drop a quick shout out to everyone that posted tips on installs on this thread, including the originator. Just did mine and it took me half hour. I appreciate y’all.

Agree with TacoDread. The '18 grille and sensor bolted right in and worked with zero issues. I also have a 2018 OR grille if anyone wants it, might require some epoxy to get the push fasteners to fit, had to file them down to get the clips off to avoid mangling them.

    Good morning everyone,
Quick update on the grille, I've had the china PRO grille (without the garnish) for a week now, little under 200 miles and no lights, system activates normally. :bananadance: Glad I didn't have to waste $50-60 for that garnish. Use that towards other mods. :drevil:

Ordered chinese knockoff grill. Install was super easy. It came with the cover/trap door over the sensor area. Drove around for a bit, kept getting the error message. ordered the garnish. Just went to install it and it looks like it uses push tabs/clips but my grill has screw holes. I thought I ordered the 2018 grill. Maybe I messed something up.

Should I just cut off the tabs and like, epoxy it to the grill? I'm slowly reading through the 22 pages of this thread but haven't seen this exact scenario yet...

Just put a piece of plastic in front of the sensor. The grille doesn't have the slots for that garnish. You could try heating up the grille and cutting in slots that fit the garnish...

So here is the post where the grill was modded to accept the garnish. Hope this helps.

@morebetterjd i would just drill out the two holes on grill for the upper attachments of the garnish and then epoxy a small piece of plastic on the garnish itself where the screws would go then drill from the inside. Go over to page 16 of the thread, a dude named @joostin420 had the same grill you had and has an 18 as well, and he managed to do it. Maybe PM him?

You have the '18 garnish. That fits perfect on the '18 grille, otherwise you have to add a rivnut or something (like epoxy) to the '16-'17 grill you have. I just installed the 18 grille and garnish in my '18, and the whole process took less than 30 minutes.

Not sure that is correct- I have the 17grill and 18 garnish and all went together fine. I just need to get my starlock washers a little snugger.

Installed skid plate and Pro Grill w/ garnish last night... I got it off ebay...all OEM- seller even included new starlock washers. Used the longer harness for clean routing. Easy Breezy. Drove it around and all electronics seem to be in working order. Total time for everything was about 1.5 hours.

Do what I and others have done. Go to Autotrader or Similar site. Get a vin off a Pro that's on there. A used 2018 Pro. Closer the better to your location. Give that to an internet dealer . See if that works. Did for me. Also see if your local Dealer parts dept can get a Vin off of a Pro that was sold there. This also works. My local dealer was going to do it for me but the internet deal went thru first.
