After 8 hours on the trail I cant be “on it” for that long. Plus if the night before was late it makes it worst. Skids are there for “in case”. I’m happy to have my steel skids. Have saved me lots of money.

I have to say that having the CB was amazing. :cookiemonster:

Thanks so much guys, @tacoma16 @Norilsk @Joe23 for ensure it was on the list for swisha. :hattip:

It takes wheeling to the next level just being able to chat constantly and knowing what the other guy is doing or wants to do.:bananadance:

its also good for in convoy. seriously @NeonHeights was the only one not with CB when we did ardbeg last time and he didn't know what we were doing when driving up. when we pulled over to piss he got it last second and was really close too.

And on the trail it helps you can warn guys behind what to avoid.

From what my truck was last year, to this year at Ardbeg. It was like I had never wheeled it before. Was a totally different experience.

I am blown away with what the rig has become.

The CB was just another layer I needed and didnt even know.

I agree, steel gives you more confidence, but we also have to be rational here :D
Realizing that the truck will be seeing trails maybe for 30-45 days in a year in the best case scenario, makes you actually re-think about setup.
I had steel skids and realized that they are not needed after seeing the trails. Good tires and some common sense can get you far enough.
And if I want to loose it all and go crazy, I will just get a Heep.

The main reason I am not going to get heavier skids is exactly the reason @Norilsk pointed out. I only go off-roading maybe 10 days per year at most. I'm also pretty confident in knowing what my truck can do, I don't push my limits when off-roading because this truck is my only vehicle and my daily driver. The factory skids are plenty strong for my style of off-roading

Exactly boys. I may have just started wheeling, but I know what I want to do with my rig. I get to use it so often, it makes a ton of sense for me to have them. ALL OF THEM BWHAHAHAHAH :transformer:

The 6 or 8 hours of wheeling we did in Ardbeg, hurt me so much. My hip is KILLING me from holding correct throttle and brake for so long. Up, Down, Up, Down, Up, Down. You clench constantly even though the ride is not that rough. I am incredibly soar today. Yesterday was pretty lol for pain, I spent a stupid amount of time in the sauna. I am sure this is mainly because I am so out of shape. Need to fix that.

Trucky on the other hand, says please can I have some more. Not 1 problem with the rig.

I have looked into new seats as the seats (sr5) suck. One day. I have done 12+ hours in the seat and was pretty sore. Especially sleeping in the bed of the truck ..rtt has helped with soreness while on the road but new comfier seats would be a nice thing.

Finally got rid of my stupid Pop & Lock tailgate lock. Since the pin went on it about 2 years ago, I modified it but it was never the same. Tried to get the company to replace it since they admitted the original ones had the pin as a defect but they were being douches and wouldn't unless I had a receipt. It was years ago so who knows where the receipt went.
The stock one is back in now and feels so smooth. I'll have to add something like a locking latch on the inside in case I need it.

Added a latch to the inside of the tailgate. At least keep thieves away a bit longer.

    On to the next job...

^If the latch isn't stainless, it will last one winter before seizing up due to rust...
