I was messing with you about rattle canning it, but it actually looks pretty good... although I might still order mine powder coated the day I finally get it. Had one ordered months ago and cancelled it to buy your wheels and tires!

 

F that paying hundreds for powder coat. Take your time, clean, prime, paint...for about $40

 

I didn't either about 2 weeks ago. I've got some good pointers to not f up. Live and learn

 

I may have ordered an Oba setup that come with a free train horn...

150 psi with a viar 444c and a 5 gal tank

Those with a 1st gen, where in the hell can I mount a 5 gal tank....thought about selling it or something and getting two 2.5gal

 

After a year of using the camper shell, I'm happy to take it off. Love having an open bed again!

 

Take spare tire off put in the bed and mount it underneath there I will be doing that soon acourse I have no spare under there lol!!

I work out of state so removing the spare is a definite no go

 

I've about got them back together. I just work on them in my free time to make sure I take my time with them

 

Why can't you throw it in the bed? Lock it down too, really that's the only spot for it or mount the tank somewhere in the bed/toolbox

 

I use my truck as a truck though... might see if I can put it in the toolbox

 

Throw it in the toolbox then, that's what I was going to do with mine but I'm waiting to install it until I get a swing-out for the spare

 

unless you're gonna use air tools often, IMO, 5 gallons is too big to try to find a spot for. There are a few VAIR and similar small tanks in the 1-2.5 gal size that will run the occasional air tool (depending on compressor GPM)

Needs to be enough to power a train horn, not sure how .5 gal would do...might see how big it is and if it isn't to bad I'll put it in the toolbox

 

Oh, gotcha- I misread it as you got a compressor that will power a train horn, not to power a train horn!

No reason to stay out of my way, first time messing with a 12v compressor. Some of the kits that are sold have I believe the smallest is a 1.5 gal? I will double check and may just go that route so maybe I can keep my toolbox full of tools

 

I meant because of the train horn- old ladies will perish from that thing!
