Ive been down this road. I went down a tire size and switched to C load and 25psi. I just want to see if others have this issue. Because if fox/kings are considerably smoother ill sell these and upgrade

650 is about as high as you want to go with no armor/weight up front, but it wasn’t too stiff for me on my icons. However, depending on how much you cranked them up, it’s defintely going to be stiff. If money isn’t too much of a concern, I’d recommend king or icon with a 600lb 14” spring. Should soften you right up.

If there’s not too many miles on those toytecs, they’ll sell quickly on here. Just my .02

Contacted Fox and they say go with foxs 2.0 performance series for the smoothest ride possible.

Any 2.5's are going to be stiffer/Bumpier than factory, I run the 2.5's with resi's from them and really enjoy the ride. Its is stiff going over smaller cracks or bumpers but in the bigger bumpers its a much smoother. I have driven Tacoma's that had Kings and Fox's and really couldn't tell much of a difference between them, but if you get them with the adjusters than you will notice a difference for sure.

Gotcha, sorry I can't be more help.

Anecdotally, I've heard fox and kings ride great, but I'm sure others with real world experience can chime in.

    Good luck :)

3k for Toytec? Yikes. Do you off-road much, or would it be mostly for pavement?

only commenting as i went from a pro to an OR and the OR rides so much better. i think the fox springs/shocks are stiffer and led to the harshness. i'd hate to upgrade for a lift to have a shitty ride. high # springs and are preloaded will ride horrible and limit upward travel. transmitting most of that movement to the truck. you really only want to add # if you're adding weight. try to get the tallest spring with the lightest # for your needs. with an appropriately dampened shock, you'll have a good ride.

Yeah 2.5 coilovers,2.0 rear with resis, total chaos upper controll arms, dakar leaf pack. I do a good amount offroading which they do seem to perform. I just cant stand on road driving. Certain highways feels like im driving a nasty washboard and you can feel it for miles in your whole truck. While on that same road i barley feel anything in my suv(i know i know). Just thought ide be able to have best of both worlds.

I have an 18 pro and when I test drove the OR to the Pro it seemed to me the Pro was little better but maybe it was about the same. I will say on certain hyws with those cracks mine is that way too but not real bad but not great. Nothing like my 04 gx470 or even the 16 Colorado z71 was better in that area. With these smaller trucks they just don't ride near as smooth and
so are you saying your is not bumpy or it is bumpy also? How is this lift over the pro stick suspension in on road ride smoothness

It is bumpy by choice. Truck is stock front and back with nothing added as weight. Front I have Icons with 700# coils maxed out as preload (some say are intended for added weight in front such as bumper/winch) and back have Icons RXT full leaf pack with all leaves installed. Gained about 3" in height and feels stiff like a sports car which I wanted it and like it.

    18 Pro to 17 OR - correct.

OR is just softer sprung and less dampened shocks. but definitely bouncier on big dips (hence being lessed dampened vs the Pro). i hated driving the pro on washout gravel roads. the OR soaks it up while the pro bounced around.

Honestly besides being a bit higher up front, the Fox suspension isn't that great. The larger bodied shocks can definitely handle fluid heat build up better but to me, they're over dampened and the stiff springs just don't work well together. Again, just me. I didn't need the Pro and there were other reasons I wend down to an OR.

If I upgrade suspension, I'll go 5100's all around and level up the front a bit. I don't want to preload the springs too much as I'll lose that supple ride.
