I get this at work. This is with a pretty steady 200 mbps pull from users right now.




The upload is really nice. We'll occasionally upload YouTube videos of meetings and such and they fly. It'd take me a long time at home with my ~12 mbps up.

It's a gig pipe over fiber, but some of it is reserved for point-to-point links between buildings, so it leaves me with 500ish out to the internet.

 

My wife is the "expert" in that. LOL. She's the one that always calls and ends up getting some money off when they do shit like that.

 

It's a pain. I get billed automatically, but I always check the receipt when it comes in, and regular as clockwork every six months they bump my bill from $29.95 to $40-something for the exact same service. I call up and they tell me that my 'promotional period' has expired, I tell them if that's the case to disconnect my service, and they drop it back down to $29.95 and refund me the difference for the previous month.
Then six months later we do it all over again.
Makes me wonder how many people go months at a time thinking they're paying $29.95 when they're actually paying an extra 50%

 

We're the same exact way. Always check every month, and when the time comes that they bump it up, we see it and she calls right away. Gotta stay on top of them for shit like that.

 

The satellite radio for the GF's Mustang and my truck is the same way. It automatically renews very year, at a higher rate, so I have to call and tell them it's too expensive and to cancel my subscription. They drop the rate down and refund me the difference. It's a pain in the butt, though, because it's 15-20 minutes on the phone with them every time.

 

LMAO! Same here!!!!! Just got the letter for the one for my truck on Friday or Saturday. Wife bugged, of course, and is going to call and "complain".

 

So how much are you saving with this? How much do you pay for your internet?

 

I keep hearing Spectrum won't haggle. It'll be interesting to see what they do when I want to cancel TV.

 

Had verizon FiOS internet/tv/ phone previously. It was creeping up towards $300/ month.

Right now I have Fios 70mbps internet@$49.99/month. PS Vue @$29.99, HBOnow@ $14:99
= $94.97 . ~$100/month.
(Note I use a friend's Netflix & he uses my HBO account for all the savings. Also not counting Prime.)

So close to $200/ month saved....

I just had mine replaced before the FF meet where we met. The Satellite tech was so confused about my mirror riser. I was like, "Well I'm 6'3" and the mirror hangs down pretty low, so I put in this thing and now I get better visibility". Apparently he had never seen or heard of this in his 8 years on the job haha

 

Haha well since I didn't the up needing the riser it's up for grabs.

 

Guess we'll find out in about 2 months, lol. So far they've been honoring the price I was paying through TWC.

 

well it happened, just cut the cord as well as the home phone. Internet only from Fios 75 mb/s for 66 bucks after taxes etc. We have netflix from my sister in law, and a roku with her fathers cable login. Next is to either get another roku or something similar. Saving another 50 bucks a month woot woot.

 

I might be interested.
