Let me also add I am not 'stirring' shit up. People pay you alot of money. Communication is all they want.

I have sung praises regarding the tune compaired to factory. But there have been issues. Issues that really ruin the driving experience. My surging is dangerous. The truck didn't do it stock. Now it is. That's a problem and you're basically blowing me off. Yes, as a paying customer I have a right to voice my concerns. It only takes one accident from a surging truck for it to escalate into a bigger issue. I'm trying to avoid that and hoping there is a solution. But a lack of communication leads to me to believe nothing is being done (or willing to be done) and I'm an outlier because no one else experiences the problem. Yet in the Alpha thread, others have confirmed with 1.04 the surging on cold start into gear has also occurred for them. Again, communicate with us as customers. Reach out to us. Don't blow us off. Why is me asking for that such a big deal?

I am not blowing anyone off and just because I don't respond to you personally as quickly or the way you want it does not mean I do not see your posts or your issues. Last email between us was April 20th about the MANUAL, so please forgive me if I don't jump over and handle your AUTO truck issue immediately when I had no idea you even had an AUTO until you posted about it! If you think there are only a few trucks tuned, or that this forum is the entire sample size of the trucks tuned, that's incorrect. This forum is a small part of the several hundred done. I have said MULTIPLE times that I am adding in a form for people with flash manager to submit requests, custom tuning, etc.

I also post on the alpha thread and others as often as I can for maximum exposure, and I believe I did give a reason why there was a delay, a few times, just without going into specifics on the exact reason.
I have also explained that here. We have all been in the process of working towards and making the tune better and better, for over a year now. You came here right after 1.03C and into the middle of development and are getting angry because I can't give you personalized service at your schedule, well I am sorry but there are hundreds of other people too.

somewhere around mid march is when you expressed an issue with your MT truck. Somewhere around end of April is when you got your AT truck. So around 2 weeks with the AT? I've been working on things for the AT for months, working on the MT for just as long.

That cold start surge, as much as you don't believe it, absolutely does exist stock, to a lesser degree, and has always existed. It is an issue with the cold start idle tables from park/nuetral (stationary) to D(non stationary). And it happens when you start the truck and immediately or shortly after starting go to the second idle request tables. Just because YOUR SPECIFIC truck does not do it stock DOES NOT mean the issue is not present on stock firmware. This is something that has been the biggest Achilles heel on this platform, there are MULTIPLE problems with the stock tune but it does not happen on every truck. Something that I have posted about probably 100+ times.

You think nothing is being done because I don't personally message you about it? Last email from you was about your MT truck, I had no idea you even had a AT until you posted on this forum.

I try to be as self reliant as possible and not bug tuners unless there's an issue.

    I PM'd you.

I've had your tune since February. I did not post issues with the tune because I wanted to see if it was indeed a problem.

Going 3 months with no updates to the manual tune is tough. I think others can agree with that. Along with the broken promises which you also admit to. I'm just asking for communication. Keep us in the loop.

Yes I would also assume there are more tuned truck then just on this forum. Not sure why you're bringing that up.

As i said, i'm not trying to 'double dip' and tune trucks i didn't pay for. That's wrong and I'm not a thief and I don't appreciate the accusation. From my previous experience with tuning companies, returing a vehicle to stock before being sold or traded is all that is required before tuning another vehicle. If that's again not the case, please let us know.

yes I traded my m/t for an a/t 3 weeks ago. Ran it stock for a week. No issues. Tuned it, now have the surge. Thank you for explaining the idle tables. i appreciate the info. Again, that's all i'm looking for....communication. Just as so many other trucks have your tune besides those on the forum, i'm sure there are others with issues like mine that haven't said anything. It's all about sample size.

How when the license key was sent to you on march 11th.

This has always been the problem, the exact thing I just told you about idle and surge has been posted and explained here and talked about here numerous upon numerous times. Most than most other topics actually for the AT.

My order was submitted Feb 20th. You are correct in that the license key wasn't sent until Mar 11th.

Part of the problem is that info like that gets lost in the 800+ page thread.

Incorrect, I will also say the broken promises on dates is far less than desirable.

Nope, no issues here with the time table because my expectations are not unreasonable. Some here have expressed as you have, but the vast majority understand the situation. I'll say it for Matt: either accept that or dont. He IS is active development. What part of this is hard for people to understand?

I will post here like I posted in the alpha thread. I am no longer putting out time-lines or updates via post. Everything will be done through Flash Manager 1.10 and forward. Tune notes, information, dates, what's changed, reasons for updating, etc.

It is simply a hassle to keep people updated on the same things that have been talked about an infinite amount of times. Unfortunately I post that I am working on a way to make sure everyone can get answers, everyone can get info (via flash manager, which is required to even download tunes, so no way you "cant" find it) but most don't even see that.

For everyone who feels discouraged or disappointed about lack of MT updates being on time, or in general. I am sorry, I do not have a Manual transmission truck, and the ECUs are too different to force 1 tune to work for both.

I know the process isn't perfect, and I know that most people only see our current result, not how we got here. But it IS improving. First it was totally unregistered kits and complete confusion. Then a little easier to understand registration but mass emails for updates, then flash manager, then flash manager + pre-registered dongles, not flash manager + pre-registration + logging, the next release is Flash Manager with more information, packaged software, no dongle, customization, logging..

even better when I return I will be on the east coast and anyone can bring me their truck if they want flashed, more custom tuning, and as much dyno tuning as you guys can get. This type of stuff just takes time. No company comes out with a perfect product the very first time. Look at the Cobb Accessport, V1, V2, V3.. every time improving. Look at ecutek...go back to flash 2002 and compare to the software today...

Tuning toyotas right now is the equivalent of a baby taking it's very first step. No big companies support it, nobody has really dived into it. It's simply unfair to compare to companies that have been working with platforms for longer than some of us have been alive.

It has come a long way since I started following mid 2017 and it is definitely improving as time goes on. Its becoming more streamlined and more features are being added in addition to customizations in the future.

People seem to forget that just a year ago, this was totally new and there was NOTHING for these trucks. Its only going to get better from here.

Yep. The few jack wads complain and complain is what gets to me. We ALL have had a few hiccups getting info from Matt, but he is working on it and IT IS getting better. I for one and VERY greatful for his efforts. Besides a few things I would like to see improve, this truck is beyond night and bay better. For what we have now vs stock, I for one can wait and offer my help when needed.

Despite the negativity from a few, this sounds like a great improvement over stock. I would like to purchase this for my 2018 TRD PRO MT. Does anyone know when this will be available again on the OVTune website?
