Oddly I got my best milage using third gear a lot going up step mountain grades 8,000ft + above sea level. I checked that math 3 times and it was accurate for the odometer and the fuel. Haven't figured that one out yet.

You are correct. Parasite drag will destroy your mpg's faster than added weight will. At a certain point it won't matter how conservatively you drive, you won't compensate for the drag.

I might be at that point lol

Gravity. The higher you get in altitude, the less you weigh.

I mean, it sounds right, right?

That's not bad at all for a 6spd with a lift, bigger tires, and armor... my stock 6spd gets 16-17 around town, and is consistently in the 15s on the highway :(

The hill climbs in 3rd is definitely weird though..

    Fact.

Earth is flat. Teddy Roosevelt was a Martian. The cake was not a lie. Water will never find its' true level.

    Also facts.

A regear is in my future.

    That's an actual fact.

I get 10 MPG at 75 pulling the SGT. Rock trailer. Of course that's with the truck and trailer loaded. I always take 20 gallons of water and at least 5 gallons of gas and 2 65 quart RTIC coolers one full of ice because its cheaper here, a canopy and all of mamas stuff that she needs. If I come back with a cooler full of Specks and Reds than its worth it.

How's the fit with the BFF front bumper?

I need a skid plate and want to make sure it'll work.

Nothing smaller than 4.88. I Might go with 5.29's. One day I do want to shove 35's in there and I really don't mind being, what 10%? Over stock on 33's.

    Anything you say Teddy...

Yeah I almost went 5.29s on my truck, but thought it would be way overkill with 33s.. don't think I will ever go 35s but kind of wanted that extra gearing for lower 1st gear when offroad since I don't have low range.. Kind of regretting not going with 5.29s since I am getting such good mpgs now, but oh well, theres no way I could've known that I would have increased my mileage by 7mpgs.. in the future I may just swap the 4.88s into my 6spd and then regear my 5spd again

    PM'd and emailed.

Just noticed it attaches to the bed rails. Which I do not have. Gonna have to c-clamp it or something till I can get the proper hardware. Hope I jumped on it quick enough.
