Is everyone adjusting their preload for the taco lean? My fox 2.5’s are at factory settings and I notice no taco lean. Should I go ahead and adjust my preload evenly on both sides when I crank them up? Going for ~2.5” of lift.

I know the Bilstein 5100/ome coil setup from Headstrong includes a 1/4” spacer for it. Maybe this isn’t an issue with fox?

I have a thread or two extra showing on the drivers side and some sand bags ballast on the passenger side of the bed to offset the fuel tank. My ride is pretty smooth and level bc of this.

I have them installed at factory height which gave me ~1” of lift.

I'm waiting to install mine cant get time off work. i'am thinking about just having 4wheelparts do it, i cant find time to get them done and they will set them to 2.5'' and do the alignment.

do you have pictures of your truck as it sits now?

That thing sounded amazing when they had it run. It was a great way to sell those RC replicas. At this years sea otter, I learned that Fox > Rockshox in giving back to the community. They were offering $20 flat rate services compared to $40 oil and seals or $120 overall halls from Rockshox. I wished I would have bought a Fox 36 instead of my pike :annoyed:

I've been looking at Fox Level 3 from Headstrong. RR on both front and rear with NO adjusters and a new Dakar leaf pack, OR, RR on both front and rear WITH adjusters and an AAL in the rear. Both cost pretty much the same. My question for you guys: If you could only have one or the other between adjusters or a new leaf pack in the rear, which one would you go with??

It will really come down to your usage. If you plan on adding weight to the rear (RTT, Bumpers, Shell etc..) then go with the Dakars. If no weight is going to be added the adjusters are awesome to have. You can take the same road as me and go with the adjusters and AAL ....then switch out the leafs later.

Thank you for your response. Honestly, I have no plans on putting an RTT or a shell on my truck. That could change down the line, but for now, no plans. The only thing I would consider is possibly a new bumper in the rear, and sliders, but that's about it. I will be loaded up for camping trips but those will mostly be weekend excursions, nothing that's going to last a week, so supplies won't be significant.

I do like the idea of adjusters and think that would really help tune the ride for the streets. My only concern with Fox is getting the lift I want since it seems like you have to preload the heck out of the coilover to get any significant lift..

I'm sure some folks would say that my preload is too much but my truck rides awesome. Fox claims these to be capable of a 3" lift. I'm at 2.5" and don't feel the need to have less preload at all!

with your current plans, go with the RR and adjuster front and rear and just an AAL. Dakar's are great, but if you don't have a bunch of weight out back, you'll be sitting ass high and/or have a very stiff ride back there. if you decide to go dakar's later, you'll want to upgrade the rear's to the 118's for the extra travel to match the pack.

Wouldn't it be better to go with the 117's? The 117"s are for 2"-3" of lift. I was under the impression that the 118's were for 3"+ of lift, or did I not see what the lift measurement was?

you're right in the descriptions of those. But I was directed by a few to go 118's with the dakar's, and sure glad I did. Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road was the one who swayed me that way - her words, the 118's travel range pairs better with the dakar than the 117's.

Thank you. Good to know. I have the 117's and the Dakars Medium Duty Leaf Pack. I have not installed yet, but maybe I should look into the 118's then as well. My drive to work is like a washboard road in certain sections, and I can't wait to get this new set up on.
