If this has been answered somewhere a link would be great. I’m not the most mechanically inclined but I can hold my own with most “maintenance” items on the Tacoma.

Is there a larger tranny cooler that replaces the factory tow package one as a bolt on replacement or are most of the aftermarket ones in additional to the stock one/you have to customize mounts etc?

I need to do a tranny flush in about 1k miles with oil change and spark plugs and I want to add a larger/another cooler.

Hmmm, interesting. Yeah after doing more research it sounds like adding an additional tranny cooler AFTER the stock one is the way to go. I think I'll be adding this one in the next week or two.

Reporting back on this. I did install one and it brought my temps way down. I did an identical trip with similar weather after installing it and on the hills where my transmission was hitting 225-228 it was only at 210-218. Driving around town and cruising without towing I'd barely hit 135. Install was easy and i added it after the stock cooler for extra cooling.
