Not sure how or why you say this? My wife has a 17 crosstrek and had a 13 forester. Both were easily equal if not better than my 09 Tacoma. They wouldn’t be so popular and sell so well if they were cheap shit.

Both are still made in Japan with 6 speed manual transmissions.

In Japanese factories, managers tend to wear the same uniforms as line workers and work in offices that are inside the factory and open to workers. U.S. managers, above the supervisory level, are generally inaccessible to workers and are perceived by workers as aloof. American managers work in air conditioned offices separated from the factory by long infrequently used corridors.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
FYI --Subaru had their "eyesight system" long before Toyota thought about that kind of stuff --2006 if I remember correctly. Oh and BTW --Toyota owns 16% of Subaru!

My wife has had a couple of Subaru's in the past and they were good vehicles. BUT... In our part of the world the resale REALLY sucks. If that matters to you then reconsider. Now, that may not apply in the north east or the west coast but down south you will take a beating when you sell it. Just my experience.

I have a 2012 WRX Sedan, a 1st Gen Tacoma TRD OR and a 2018 TRD Pro. The Subaru has been as reliable as the trucks. And quick!

My wife had a top of the line 2016 Outback, and ended up selling it for a 2017 Mazda CX-5. I loved the Outback, and we had no problems with it. It was very spacious on the inside with a great cargo area for hauling stuff. I preferred it to the Mazda. I would have no qualms with buying a new Outback.

Oh shiiiit! My time to shine! I went from a 16 trd or to a 17 outback limited 2.5

I'll post a full review later tonight. Short version: worth it.

I had a '16 Crosstrek which was a severe love-hate thing. Good mileage, nice interior styling, and their cvt was really great. It was also unbelievably loud on the inside, had 3 rattles I couldn't find, had terrible speakers, noisy 1985 sounding clunky suspension, and left the wife stuck when the brake light switch failed and it wouldn't go into gear. I think the new update has addressed most of those issues, but it's enough that I won't consider any Subaru for a while.

Edit. The thing that really ticked me off was the brake light switch. They recalled eyesight models to change the switches, but everyone else was left on their own. Leave my family stuck because you'd rather wait until a known bad part fails? While recalling only the models you're forced to by the government? F that. No more Subaru for me

Ahhh, thats why I like driving the outback, but they are always upset when they find out I am actually a male, not just dressing the part.

It did not have a heated steering wheel, and she decided that she really needed a heated steering wheel due to Reynaud's syndrome in her hands. When she is spending her own money, she makes her own choices.

They’re super fun to lift and beat the shit out of. My last battle wagon rolled on 28’s and got 25 MPG.

I tend to have a little too much fun in them.

I got rid of my 2015 outback due to oil consumption. 1quart every 1.5k Miles. Now my buddy’s 2016 had the same issue and he is hitting rid of it. It’s ridiculous
