Also, I don't want to steal the thunder of a recent buyer by posting the pictures ... but I sent out an aluminum knob with a black delrin ring around it. Looks pretty great, and I hope the design will hold up. It would make a fine addition to the lineup.

 

Would be cool to have 7 speeds.

How about 2 reverse gears to choose from? Wouldn't that be confusing to play with? One much lower geared than stock for backing trailers up hill.

 

"L" being a lower "Reverse", I trust.

Because the current reverse is R Second or R Third.

Use 4 low. But if you want a real trip the farm truck us an old chevy dad says it's a 4x4 twin I sticks booth 4spd. Fun watching peeps drive it. Or the Mack reverse selector is on the dash reverses before the tranny so 9 gears forward or reverse.

If I just used 4lo, I would be in 4wd.
If I am wanting to back a trailer up a hill in reverse and have to make corrections in direction, or steer around a curve things will get bound up doing that in 4lo.

Now if those nitwit soccer dads didn't complain so much over the years about breaking a fingernail while locking their hubs, then I would still be able to use 4lo with my hubs unlocked.

Two reverse gears would be interesting and I'd welcome it for sure.

 

Thats why i am liking a fj tcase with twin sticks.

 

Do you have that mounted up in your rig currently? That would be awesome in a Gen3.

I was thinking more as in granny forward gear. But I also considered reverse Low as well

The manual transmission in 1999-2010 Super Duty, the ZF S6-650. Ratios are killer, too.

1st - 5.79:1 (L)
2nd - 3.30:1 (1)
3rd - 2.10:1 (2)
4th - 1.31:1 (3)
5th - 1.00:1 (4)
6th - 0.72:1 (D)
R - 5.23:1 (R)

 

Those are some friggin' great ratios except OD / 6th. I'd be nice to have something a bit lower than our current 0.58 ratio.

 

Wonder what the ratios are on 7 Speed Manual Corvette and Porsche.
