I’d probably be down. I’m stock with sliders and skids so should be fine at flagpole, I think haha

So, I believe my driveline vibration is gone after the shim install; I now just have a slight and constant vibration in the steering wheel throughout all speeds that I am attributing to running the E-rated St Maxx tires. It is not a pulsating or harmonic vibration and it doesn't go away when I shift in to neutral, so my gut tells me its just the tires. All this is good news for me, but putting the shim in raised the rear end even more and accentuated the Detroit lean. I'm considering possibly removing one of the leafs from the Dakars, basically turning them into the "medium" packs, but I will have to think for a bit on that one.

One other issue I have noted is with the front of the truck. I drive Joplin Rd every day for my commute, and the road has several little rises in the road that ascend and descend quickly; almost like a tall whoop or the little hills that make your stomach feel like you are on a roller coaster (lousy descriptions, but the best I can do). Anyway, when I crest these rises, the front of the truck bounces or rebounds a couple of times. I believe that this is because I am running the 886 coils up front with no weight on the front end (yet). Anyone have any ideas or theories on this one? I'm considering swapping out the front coils for 888s until I can afford to add significant weight up front.

At any rate, thanks for all of the suggestions on the shims and thanks in advance if you have a thought on the front coils.

Your leafs will settle a bit but if you aren’t carrying much weight in the rear, removing a leaf will make for a less harsh ride. I think you are right about the bouncing. The shocks can’t dampen the over sprung coils. 886’s usually lift the front a lot if you don’t have any weight there how much higher is your rear sitting than your front?

I don't mind the harsher ride, just the increased height difference. I need to re-measure tonight, but I think the rear is ~1.5 inches higher than the front. The 888s are a bit higher than the 886s and have the correct spring rate for not running any weight. That is why I am leaning that way. The local off-road shop in Warrenton quoted me $80 to swap both coils for me (bringing the coils/struts into them off of the truck).

Preliminary plan is flagpole knobb saturday, we can drink and eat after. Maybe wheel from morning till early afternoon and then relax/split off after that.
