For giggles & shiz, i might wrap the light in aluminum foil after work and see if it makes a difference. If it does, then i would think issue is the light itself rather than wires.

You might want to try the RG8X cable, or a different light if wrapping in foil cuts down on the noise. If the radio works fine when the light is off, I doubt the issue is in the CB power cable.

Ah. I can still send/receive with mine turned up. I did notice a change in the amount of interference when I added the aux fuse panel and routed all power/ground, except my radio, to it.
My radios' +/- are ran into a 12v adapter I cobbled together from an old USB splitter from before USB ports became standard in vehicles.

This is your answer. It's RF interference from the light bar. I tried ground chokes on every light on my truck and never got rid of it.

Legacy wagon, but yes. Red 4Runner is now. Wife is driving the hoopty for the next two months until her car gets built and arrives. Then I'm taking the engine/trans out of it to rebuild and go into the van.

    Thanks man!

Yes sir! Got some tons I'm putting together to stick under it. 4.3 with a T-350 tranny, yota case with 4.70 gears currently. Going with atlas when axles are under though.

Hell yeah! That thing's a dream. What tire size you going with once the tons are in?

What's this black plastic cover covering up where the transmission meets engine?
My skidplate is in the way so i can't really get a good look.
Seems to be weeping but I'm assuming/hoping it's just that some ATF got on it when I removed the trans pan last week.

Same thing I saw when I was under mine after LBL. It's a dust cover that is terrible at its job

Can't really tell from the picture, and I don't have my truck anymore to look. I'd venture a guess that it's an inspection cover and/or a way to loosen the flexplate bolts to the torque converter. Hopefully it is transferred trans fluid, as the most likely culprit in that area would likely be a rear main seal.

    Fishing question...

When i ride up to Windrock on 17th, thinking i might stop at the Clinch River for a bit on the way since i've never been there.
Should i stop below melton hill dam or norris dam? Both areas have trout or just norris?
