Been doing it for over 15 years

There is no reason for me to waste time and maintain a rented car

Well I am not nice to rented call girls either.

People abuse rentals/lease all the time. Most just publicly won’t say it

Google what people do Rented vehicles and you will see it

Do you know if you corporate lease a STI or a M5 or M4, that it is very difficult to burn the clutch out in 36k miles even with monthly tracking and clutch dumps? :D

So the two week before car is due for return you can beat the clutch to an inch of its life.

Inspection company doesn’t even test the clutch

    :D :D

It was in for service and it got body damage, after messing around a couple months they decided to let me order whatever Tacoma i wanted at invoice. My service visit ended up being pretty damn expensive, lol.

yes but this doesn't happen on a regular basis, we are really just talking about taking advantage of a free service offered from the dealer, not horror stories that had happened by accident.

I did the crankshaft TSB myself and the lower control arm plugs (they gave me the parts) and any other TSBs that come up in the future, i’ll try to do it myself. If my truck has a recall, I’ll let them do it.

Other than that, they aren’t touching it unless its a warranty issue.

What’s your concern? The dealer won’t continue to give me TSB parts and save their labor? They’ll deny warranty work because I do my own maintenance? I dont use aftermarket parts for maintenance.

they wont give you TSB parts to do your own work because you wont do the repair correctly to their specs

If you have the time take it, make them pay the tech for an hour, if costs them money to do anything "free" I take it in.....but I'm retired with the time so......

I've sold cars and told a lot of my lease customers to do this because it makes sense if you continuously lease! Why put money into a vehicle you have no intention of owning. I've leased my last three vehicles but have always maintained and cared for them meticulously because for me leasing was like an extended test drive. I have three years to decide if I want to buy it, or just get a new one. Shoulda kept my 2011 tacoma, my 2015 was a piece of garbage and I couldn't get out of it soon enough, and my 18 So far is a winner! As far as the 5k, it's free... I put a bunch of cokes in my pockets, steal cookies, fart in new cars, and ask salesman how to engage the rear locker in the tacoma trd sports!

    Just getting started...
The only thing I'd recommend is making sure you hit that first oil change on time, whether it be 5k or 10k. Gotta keep it in mind particularly as it's not just to change the oil, but to get any excess levels of trace metals out of the system that turned up during the break in period.

I personally couldn't drive a vehicle in good conscious not having changed the oil in 47k miles whether it's a lease or not.

I get trying to screw over the man and all but you know someone (good chance a regular person) will most likely end up buying that vehicle right?

Hell you're probably not going to keep any vehicle you buy brand new for it's entire life so why not have the same mentality with brand new cars as well?

I dunno I guess different strokes for different folks.

I didn't see this point on here yet. In Canada, if you don't go to a licensed mechanic for oil changes and maintenance, warranty is void.
